Will the track be open Saturday for practice? Time open/close?

Outlaw 44
02-19-2008, 10:21 AM
Yes the track will be open for practice on Saturday from noon 'til 9pm.

Got a PM from Mitch and he's planning to be back. Charly Gratts and Richard Forget are also planning to be there too.

Would the Plattsburgh Gang be interested in running a "sportsman" type class with a battery/rollout/handout motor rule like last year? That class put on a hell of a show last year! How about a chrome handout, 4200mah max, 1.4 rollout max type of class?

Are the Brushless 17.5 and 27 turn running together?

Outlaw 44
02-19-2008, 08:35 PM
Yes they are. Weight for Bl is 1165 and brushed is 1135. If we have 4 or more brushed we could separate. That's why I thought of suggesting a "Pro Sportman" set of rules for the fast racer who doesn't have the ressources to switch to BL or to have the absolute latest batteries. But we need at least a full heat ( 4 racers) confirmed in order to do that.

Is it ozite or loop carpet?

Outlaw 44
02-20-2008, 10:28 AM
It's loop carpet, similar to Plattsburgh.

The only area you need to be careful is coming out of the turns. For some reason the grain of the carpet gets you loose coming out. But if you put a harder tire on the LF and run a little more weight on the LR you'll be just fine. Last time I ran I used a Gold LF, grey silver 70/30 RF, grey-white RR and a pearl LR. You can ask Mitch (Weapon 1) what he ran last year, he sat on the pole.

outlaw dave and greg will be there also need directions

I assume you'll be headed from west of us.

-From Autoroute 10, take Exit 68 for Route 139 towards Granby.
-Drive on Route 139 North (Nord) about 5 to 10 minutes until you hit route 112
-Turn left on route 112 West (Ouest) towards St-Paul d'Abbotsford
-Once on 112 count 2 traffic lights, the track is on your left after the 2nd light.

Don't do Mapquest!!! For some reason it sends you right in the center of town. We're on the outskirts, on the western side of town.

Good to know you guys are coming over. I assume you racing 17.5/stock.

So anyone up for 1/12th scale this year???

FoamDonut

How the hell did I end up typing that.

Actually it was meant to be 1165g.

Pat" what time does the race start at on sunday?

Outlaw 44
02-29-2008, 05:54 PM
Track meeting is at 11:30 and 1st heat will start after that. We'll be doing away with time trials and going with stagger start heats so we can shorten the day a little and allow for more practice time before the heats actually start. I have a feeling we'll have a decent crowd especially since we have the local Losi Slider classes adding onto the Pan Car classes.

17.5 stock top 3

1- Charly Gratts
2- Patrick Trottier
3- Jeremy Dobb

1/12th scale

1- Steve Peake
2- Patrick Trottier

Sliders Sylvain Ruel took it, I can't remember the runner-ups, too busy running 2 classes. Those slider brushless put on a hell of a show. Richard Forget opened up his Mamba to the max to try to take the win but the gears let go (too much power!), so Ben Bouffard ended up winning from the pole.

Charly Gratts drew the lucky ticket for the Slider and had the right setup for the track record (only driver to hit 81 laps) abnd a win in 17.5 stock. Not too bad at all! The raffle for the 2nd slider was won by a young spectator, hope to see him race soon!

Thanks to Ben Bouffard for lending me the 1/12th scale, the car handled awesome until the rear tires burnt up in the main. Steve kept the door shut, the ony way around him was down on the ice, and that's what it took. Thanks also to Steve from TQ Cells for lending me some great packs to allow me to run two classes.

Thanks for everyone who came, long distance awards goes hands down to Steve Peake, 5 hour drive to the track!

Finally Thanks to Bromont Terrasse for being our sponsor for a 5th straight year. Even though the crowd was smaller than expected all had a great time. Maybe next year we'll try to put in on another date that's not too close to another trophy race.
