View Full Version : MuchMore 2008 Product Thread
adamliehr 02-04-2008, 07:54 PM At the birds this past week it was announced that Great Planes (Futaba, Odonnell, O.S., Hobbico, Etc.) will be the new exclusive importer for the MuchMore brand of products. This will now allow racers in the U.S. to be able to get MM products cheaper and faster than before including the killer tech support that Great Planes has always offered.
The new web page is under construction and can be found at www.muchmoreusa.com. Keep and eye on it for more news about these products.
There is another page, however I believe it belong(ed) to the former company that was importing MM products. www.teammuchmore.com You can still view information on these products at this time, but I wouldn't suggest using the contact page.
If you have questions or comments please post them. I know that the guys from MuchMore USA will be checking in on the thread to help out.

abdule 02-05-2008, 10:37 AM aewsome stuff................
adamliehr 02-06-2008, 01:53 PM One of the newest products released from Much More is the AC/DC Silent Charger (see attached pic). This charger will be great for those who don't want to have to lug around a power supply, because you can just plug it into a regular outlet. I believe that it has cables to connect it to a power supply if you wish to as well.
killerkoncepts 02-06-2008, 01:55 PM adam you have a pm!
adamliehr 02-06-2008, 04:08 PM you got one back Jody.

ToddFalkowski 02-07-2008, 01:07 PM Raymon... Is there any shipping forms that need to be sent along with the item(s)? I have a CTX-D that is El-Smoke-O.... (It's not under warranty)
Thanks!
Todd Falkowski
Hitman II 02-07-2008, 02:49 PM The CTX-D2 is to provide communications with new PC interface. Where do you get the cable and software? Any part numbers?
Thanks
Rusty22 02-11-2008, 01:22 AM how is the CTX-D2 compared to a Trinity DPD? the unit looks pretty cool
Flipper13 02-11-2008, 09:14 AM I would like to thank MM and the people from MM Korea who were going around at the Birds up grading CTX-D with new software. Philip Harwood
adamliehr 02-11-2008, 12:40 PM how is the CTX-D2 compared to a Trinity DPD? the unit looks pretty cool
I've never used the Trinity DPD, but the CTX-D2 discharges each cell individually and provides the runtime left. It really helps weed out the bad cells and shows you how well the pack was matched (as far as runtime).

brian0525 02-11-2008, 01:29 PM how is the CTX-D2 compared to a Trinity DPD? the unit looks pretty cool
I have used both. the MM is faster but the DPD does a little bit better equalizing. Both are good just personal preference.
abdule 02-17-2008, 06:05 PM when using the new charger, watch for false beaks
abdule 03-11-2008, 10:46 PM Raymon, I sent you a PM about a false peaking PT-CTXC. Your last stated that you would monitor this site, but no post have made since my last and that was on 02-17-08
adamliehr 03-12-2008, 06:25 AM Shoot me the PM and I'll e-mail it to him.

abdule 03-12-2008, 02:16 PM adamliehr, sent you a PM
adamliehr 03-12-2008, 03:36 PM Thanks. I forwarded the message and well let you know when I get a reply.
I had a few questions though regarding the false peaks. Does it do it with every pack? Have you tried charging one of your packs on a friends CTX to see what it does?
I have one pack that consistantly false peaks no matter what charger its on. It happens to be one of my dead shorted packs as well.
-Adam
pmsimkins 03-12-2008, 03:52 PM Raymon, I sent you a PM about a false peaking PT-CTXC. Your last stated that you would monitor this site, but no post have made since my last and that was on 02-17-08
I don't know really anything about the Muchmore chargers, but they have a temp probe don't they? Why don't you just charge using a temperature cutoff and then repeak with a delta V cutoff. I have a futaba charger that doesn't have a long lockout and it will false peak virtually everything, so I just use temp cutoff instead and it works great.
Roadsplat 03-12-2008, 04:55 PM The CTX-D2 is to provide communications with new PC interface. Where do you get the cable and software? Any part numbers?

Good luck with that. It was one of the main reasons I bought the CTX over some other units. They claimed that they were releasing a PC interface cable within a couple of months after the unit was released ...that was in 2005. Maybe they'll get their S%^& together and finally release it.
RC
abdule 03-12-2008, 06:08 PM I bought the Much product for the same reason, temp. cutoff. these same sticks, (all 4600's & 4200's) can be charged on CFX35 or an LRP with no problems. as you read in my PM I'v spent a fair amount of $$$ for there products and all I'm asking is for them to work properly. I've been playing with these little toys since, well for a very long time. I have one freind that has no problems with his charger and another freind that maybe having the start of problems with his power supply and this is not a good start. I contacted Hobby Services today and it is now up to me to ship it in for repair or replacement. I hope that the turn around is swift and there's a good ending to my problems. The main thing is, if you cann't reley on a product it's not worth buying anymore of that same product. I'm sure that every effort will be made to make this right, I'm sure.
thanks, George Mease
adamliehr 03-13-2008, 07:19 AM As far as the cable, I don't have any information about it. Heard the same things as you a long time ago. It would be nice to have but I don't know if it is needed. The possibility is always there considering they have the port available on the unit, so who knows.
Abdule, Great Planes is ususally pretty good with turn around. Hopefully they can get it sorted out for you.
-Adam
Anytime72 03-13-2008, 07:36 AM George, sorry you have had problems with your Much More chargers. I've had good luck with mine since I purchased them around the same time As John bought his. In fact Marty and Jorge also have no issues with them. At the Snowbirds we were told that they will be serviced in the United States but I forgot the date in which that will start. Much More products are really nice, don't give up on them just yet.

Raymon 03-13-2008, 10:23 AM New Muchmore website is up. www.muchmoreusa.com It is still a work in progress we will be adding more products to the site with lots of information about new products comming down the pike.
Port Cable of D2: I talked with Muchmore about this and they said they will not be producing the cable because of the cost and software issues. This might change in the future.

Roadsplat 03-24-2008, 10:00 AM Port Cable of D2: I talked with Muchmore about this and they said they will not be producing the cable because of the cost and software issues. This might change in the future.
That is lame!!! So glad I spent the extra money on a feature they said it was capable of doing. They certainly live up to there name...Muchmore features listed than what they provide. Definitely won't be buying anything else from this company.

ToddFalkowski 03-24-2008, 11:19 AM Yeah, the software interface for the discharger has been a sore subject for awhile on RCTech. Apparently the engineer that put the system together quit or something like that, bunch of blah, blah, blah after that. Real pisser, IMO. Mine's been broke, and I do say that I miss it. Great unit, just a bit salty on the price.
Raymon 03-24-2008, 12:25 PM Todd if you still have your D2 please send it in for repair and updates.
You all will see that most of the Muchmore products will be reduced in price.
Currently the D2 was selling in shops for 249.99, Tower is now sell the D2 for 199.99.
I will futher discuss the port issue with Muchmore, and see if they will follow up on this.
We are making Muchmore products more acessable to all racers and we are working with Muchmore to develop products that are designed to work with all of the new technologys (Brushless and Lipos). You will see in the future some new and very cool products that will make oval guys flip! Muchmore was very impressed with oval racing when they attend the Snow Birds this year and they had alot of ideas to work on so just wate and see.
Also we picked up two new oval guys for Team Muchmore USA Adam Lear and Pete D' Agnolo. Welcome Guys!
abdule 03-24-2008, 02:12 PM Raymon, I think you missed the point! Keep their word, make good on repairs in a timely fashion is all that a RC racer asks for................:( I'll keep this post on the first page until I get my charger back and I see that it has been repaired or replaced. after 12 minutes on hold waiting for customer service, I hung up. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
adamliehr 03-24-2008, 04:56 PM Thanks Ray!

abdule 03-24-2008, 05:48 PM if you have all that, you really need MR-BHK2 ( Battery Heatsink ) for NiMi sticks. awesome investment, comes with 6 fans mounted in rack that will take 4 or 6 cells. On another subject, when I arrived at home to my surprise
in the mail was a card from Hobby Servies that they had received my charger
and that it would be serviced as soon as possible. That's a plus
adamliehr 03-24-2008, 09:35 PM I have one and it works great. I just don't use it as much as I probably should.
-Adam
HitmanIII 03-24-2008, 10:08 PM I would like to thank MM and the people from MM Korea who were going around at the Birds up grading CTX-D with new software. Philip Harwood
Could you tell us what ver update they provided for the CTX-D?
Thanks
katf1sh 03-24-2008, 10:46 PM i have owned two mm chargers and power supplies since the first month you could buy them. i wouldn't trade them for anything! small and works flawless!
ToddFalkowski 03-25-2008, 10:40 AM Todd if you still have your D2 please send it in for repair and updates.
You all will see that most of the Muchmore products will be reduced in price.
Currently the D2 was selling in shops for 249.99, Tower is now sell the D2 for 199.99.
Yeah, I'll be sending it in this week. There was some confusion with sending it back- I called a few times, and nobody there seemed to know anything. (They do now). It's actually the first version- is there any way to upgrade that unit to the D2 (with the six individual cell "clamps")?
Good to see the price going down. It really is a great unit.
Raymon 03-25-2008, 12:57 PM Raymon, I think you missed the point! Keep their word, make good on repairs in a timely fashion is all that a RC racer asks for................:( I'll keep this post on the first page until I get my charger back and I see that it has been repaired or replaced. after 12 minutes on hold waiting for customer service, I hung up. We have the best repair service in the country. Our hobby services gets thousands of calls a day, and with that call volume you might have to wate.
We are not perfict but we do get customers product back to them in a timely manner.
You should have tryed sending your charger back to Canada and see how long it would have took to get it back 3 months to never.
If I have something broken and I send it to Hobby Services I have to wate just like you, if not longer because our customers come first. So if your wishing us to mess up and fail well I hope we prove you wrong, we can't make everyone happy but we try:)
Raymon 03-25-2008, 01:05 PM We have taken on a big project building the Muchmore brand in the US. Muchmore Canada did well but customer service was poor, so we have to make sure you guys get what you need and what you want. I will try to help anyone that has a problem with Muchmore products and I will follow up on repairs if your have not gotten them back in a timely mannor, but our Hobby Services is very professional and top notch.
I will also fill you guys in on new products and also take any ideas for oval that you guys would like to see. I want Muchmore to be a very sucessful line here in the US and we are putting in the work to make sure you guys get the best.
OUTSIDER6 03-25-2008, 05:24 PM Hello Raymon, good to see you on here. We talked @ birds this year for what seem a whole week. I'm the guy that was in the side room with 2 other friends and lots of MM equipment on the table.
The oval heads like all the cool mm and also the service your company provides, I know you will do whatever it takes to get it done.
Thanks for all the info @ birds.... looking for some new items soon....

abdule 03-25-2008, 05:30 PM what about an 800 number to make it easier for us to get through.....
Porksalot4L 03-25-2008, 05:45 PM so far i really love my much more charger. baught it used and so far thank GOD it didnt break! Raymon since i did buy it used is there anything i can do to update it or anything like that? is there new software for it? its just the black version from awhile back. doesnt have the magnetic heat sensor. good luck with much more in the future!
katf1sh 03-25-2008, 06:12 PM i know this isn't possible but the oval heads would love a 35 amp discharge on a MM charger.
and the MM motor coolers are not up to snuff as far as getting as cold as some others on the market.
ToddFalkowski 03-25-2008, 07:59 PM ...and the MM motor coolers are not up to snuff as far as getting as cold as some others on the market.
Do have to agree with that... Any suggestions, or know where to get a 20mm peltier? 30mm's are easy to find...
