they are made of high impact lexan 0.070 thickness. same material used in the full size race cars. painted 1 wing to take pictures of too post. also, wing mount. i'm wanting some good quality pictures to post. will be posting pictures soon. this wing is formed has adjustable trailing sponsor for different degrees of angle. side boards are also, form at degree of angle top and bottom. the wing mount i have made so far is for the wcm sprint. i know there are other sprint cars out there, being different chassis width's. like to develop a universal wing mount at which, are working on. alot of you racers out there are fabricator's by heart. so, they may be sold with or without wing mount. once pictures are posted like to hear your opinion's. thank you! have designed to QSAC rules

Thanks.. Now if I can find somebody who can pull a few for me... Not having much luck with that.

So, is there a core to the airfoil? Like foam or is it a frame type deal.. I think youre on to something. I think lexan will be a good material for a wing.

I build my front wing out of lexan but the big wing would be to heavy I thought . I'm wondering what it weighs ?

extremely light, but structurely rigid by design. i will give you exact weight. i'm at work don't have my info in front of me right now

i tried to use thinner material, changed a few things then tested for durablity did not hold up as well. when you use foam core, if wrecked hard, is pretty much done unless you have a spare. my intensions was to build a lite but be durable to last hard crash. fix the car throw the wing back on and go. when using thinner material air flow would alter wing performance. another thing my wing bolts together with metal hardware included in the overall weight. if you notice side boards are rectangler, to loose weight off wing, a person can trim the right front lower corner side board too a degree. on real cars this was done to improve driver vision. with the wing having a adjustable trailing edge was a big gain in performance adjustable air flow and durablity. and, there again, adjustable trailing edge's on wings of real cars. i will post some pictures showing mounting on sprinter.

Jim's wings work great and are much more durable than the foam versions.

When you're racing with guys like Dave Pirrello durability is a key. :p

WCM wings are styrafoam center and coregated plastic sides . I have flipped and slid mine on its wing several times . I have never hurt the foam center . At the worst the sides have came off . I use gorrilla glue for the sides . I use industrial velcro to hold it on . You don't want it to come off in a wreck . I proved that in the Final showdown in Dallas . It got turned at an angle but did not come off .

Johnny, Thanks! Just so everyone understands, if a person manufacturers parts for resale, they will be considered commercial and needs to at least be a HobbyTalk Supporter to sell items on HobbyTalk. I have no idea if they are making money off the items nor do I care to find out. I have no right, nor time, to ask for personal information on their business profit and loss.

Hobby businesses have a hard enough time making it. Allowing free comercial advertising from individuals is a disservice to legit companies. At least requiring someone to become a Supporter does a small bit to legitimize sales.

We do encourage companies to create a "support" thread for their products as it helps all HobbyTalk members. Our hope is they find the support thread useful for their company and they become a HobbyTalk Supporter (at least) to show their thanks.

anyone know who makes aluminum front and top sprintcar wings

Mike: The metal wings I have seen appear to be heavy looking. Also when getting on your top the tend to fold up.
I run lexan on my wings. Randy baker has an aluminum center section with lexan side dams.
