He doorwarms my local TRU every day and goes to many other stores as well either at opening time or nights. No wonder I can't find anything in my area!

Ok if you must NO, I work for PEPBOYS. Which is down the street from TRU, So yes i'm doing that morning (doorwarming) thing. Then 2 night a week i get to see my kids for dinner, so i stop at wal-mart in WHITEHALL on my way home. I live an hour from work and my kids, so yes i do get to stop at stores. But I am a collector, not a KID out to make my car payments on what i get at the stores. Hey i also make 90's a year and on my second wife, But life is good........

i don't see anything wrong with what you are doing. you are a collector and have a real job unlike the scalpers who do nothing but go store to store and take everything to sell as a living while not even collecting any of the cars. i try to stop at wally on the way to work every morning. unfortunately, they haven't stocked johnnies for months but i have had good luck finding treasure hunts there. i know i've been beaten by scalpers and other collectors there quite often but i don't loose any sleep over it. you win some, you lose some. it is all in the timing. i have found afternoon stocks, early morning stocks and even some late in the evening. it all comes down to being at the right place at the right time.

james, if it really bothers you that he is getting everything, make a point to beat him to a store even if it means racing him to the pegs or make it a point to check out those other stores during the night just like he does. he can't be everywhere all of the time. on a side note, i really don't think you should have much to complain about as you have had more luck than a lot of us considering the "finds" you have posted in the last year or two. :thumbsup:

I know you work at Pep Boys and am not complaining about you finding stuff. If you want to doorwarm, go ahead - I don't need any explanation why you do either. The simple fact is that I do not like you (and know many other people who don't as well); I know you don't like me either. I did manage to get one of the same 1968 Roadrunner GM's at TRU during Christmas time! :p

As for me being a kid, not really - I am almost 21 and graduating from college this spring to get my degree. I have a full time job to pay my bills and also help run one of my parent's businesses on the side. The few things I do find at stores are sold for extra money. Is there anything wrong with that? No - your friend Airport Mike (tralfaz) does it too. I hardly ever go out "hunting" and the few times I do are when I am going to the store for something else or passing it. If I find something, cool, and if not, no big deal - I was already there to get other stuff and didn't waste any gas.

It doesn't bother me at all. As I said above, I don't check much at all (especially lately) and do not care about trying to beat someone to a store just to find some little toy cars. I do not have the time and don't feel like wasting so much gas or racking up unneeded miles on my Corvette.

Additionally, I am not complaining about my finds in the past year or so either, most of which were found at night (like checking the toys at WM when I am there getting food or other things I need). However, there have been many exceptions. I stopped at my TRU around 12-1 PM after getting out of the mall one time and ended up finding three white lightnings in those Mega Buy packs that were just being stocked. I also was at a WM about two months ago when they had 15-20 cases of HW's out, and ended up getting 16 TH Pickups! Like you said, it is being at the right place at the right time, and finding them at a store right down the street from where Randy was working at the time is even better! :thumbsup:
