im looking into playing around with a buggy i have and i am looking to go brushless and with li pos. im looking to run very fast (beat up on my friends nitro los 1/8h cale buggies/trucks) but last anywhere from 15-20 min or more per pack. i am also prob gonna use reg ni mh cells form time to time.
im looking into the race setups from LRP ithink in the 4-6 turn range? something like this???
https://www.ssl-stormerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/seekpart.pl?src=ns&pn=LRP80597

is that too much..?i wanna go as fast as sa the traxxas rtr bandit deal "advertised 70 plus mph" but also have run time.
im guessing i will have to go with a 3 cell 11.1 lipo setup? what chargers and cells are good..not looking to go overboard here just want to have some decent reliable stuff i can beat on. also im leaning toward the lrp just in case i end up racing it or in a pan car.

thanks in advance im sure ill have more ????

If the LRP ESC from your link will handle 11.1 volts... GO for it. It'll be fast!

The speed control you're looking at can't handle anything above 8.4 volts (7-cell Nimh), and is limited to a 6.5 turn or higher motor. Even the Sphere Competition can't handle more than 8.4V. The new Traxxas system claims to handle 3-cell LiPo and "no motor limit", but it's the new kid on the brushless block so it's reliability is unknown (to me anyway). The Castle Mamba Max doesn't officially handle 3-cell LiPo with the 7700kV motor, but some people have said they tried it without smoke. Another option would be the Novak 4.5 turn HV system they sell for E-Maxx's, which could use a 4-cell LiPo. Expect to break or upgrade drivetrain parts with whatever system you choose.

You're basically asking to have your cake and eat it, too. You can go fast, or run a long time, but doing both just isn't going to happen in this universe. (@#$%&*!? Laws of Physics!) :jest:

The traxxass speedo will handle 11.1 lipos. I have ran mine on 6 cells with a novak 3.5 with no fan and have had no problems whatsoever with this speedo. It is larger than the novak speedo's or Lrp, but its obvious that they built this guy to be tough!I even modded mine to run 4 cell 1/12 with and it's been a trooper!!I have nothing bad to say about this speed control whatsoever.
