Neal :dude: hartracerman 01-27-2008, 05:06 PM Actually you can if you only use a light coat at a time, too heavy and you will have a problem. Dragula 01-27-2008, 06:11 PM I worked for nearly 21 years doing paint/body and frame for Chevrolet,we had a saying"we can blend black and white if we had a long enough panel!"lol Lets keep Neals paintwork simple and as trouble free as possible  Although you are right about super light mist coats. DRAGjet Actually you can if you only use a light coat at a time, too heavy and you will have a problem. roadrner 01-27-2008, 07:46 PM Only if you want it to bubble! :) rr Bill Hall 01-27-2008, 08:26 PM LOL Roadrunner! I'm with you. Want wrinkle finish? Buy it in the can. Otherwise I avoid crossing paint types or brands unless testing has proven other wise. Why step in front of the oncoming train? bobhch 02-03-2008, 12:24 PM If you dipped it in Future first......You can paint right over Future! Future works well as a base coat also before painting...just saying. It can smooth out little flaws nicely for a nice looking paint job...little tiny flaws. Not big ones! Bob...zilla gear buster 02-04-2008, 11:17 AM Are you talking about using the wet look clear from testers?? The wet look clear isn't as hot of lacquar as most is. It can be sprayed over enamels But, I am with the others. Don't unless you have alot of exper. doing so. The "Dick Landy" Car in the Drags Gasser Thread is all enamel stripping with wet look clear. But I did it in layers.. I say, Don't mess up the finish of your hard work, just to be twisted when it gets messed up on the last stage... christos_s 02-04-2008, 05:02 PM I made a nice paint job of my American Line Corvette. I use a jel-ball-point for metal fine lines over the base painted colors. Then I clear coat to keep all there and add shine. However I had already installed the glass and it frosted... (The shine on the hood is not a surface anomally, just an odd reflection) http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/attachment.php?attachmentid=53340&d=1201974633 bobhch 02-05-2008, 01:03 AM I made a nice paint job of my American Line Corvette. (The shine on the hood is not a surface anomally, just an odd reflection) christos, Try and put some Future floor covering on the window as that may bring it back. Several coats may do the trick or at least smooth things out and make it a little better. It is worth a try and couldn't hurt at this point. That almost looks like you used Acetone on the window? If not it could just be the age of your glass and materials used back then in the window? Heck I don't know but, I still like the paint job you did on the body. Bummer on the glass. *stating the obvious here* I would just leave the glass out next time. ;) Bob...zilla vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
