For a person that never run, 1/8 scale gas....which kit would be a good choice? The hobby shop in town carries both brands, and most run both cars....knowing AE has had some issued with the first batch of cars, and havent read anything about losi review wise...anyone has some ideas?

Maybe this thread will help:

It's not focused on the RTRs, but the buggies in general.

I recently started racing the RC8 myself, but have not owned an 8ight, so I can not really compare, but I do love the RC8! It handles really predictable and is really tough. The initial batch did have issues, but AE is supplying a service kit to resolve those issues. Both cars are really competitive and it's probably more a personal preference. You might want to check with the guys at the track(s) you will be running at to see what they are running.

I hope that helps a little bit.

After running my 8ight all summer,I am really impressed. The over all Quality is exceptional. It is tough as nails.I hit a car at the end of the strait way at full throttle, they pulled it off in two pieces. The diffs dont wear out like my Jammin. I have stopped racing Associated after 12 years because of their durability issues. I thought about the Asociated but after looking at it it just didn't look as well built.
