I use the FS-500. I think mine was the (3 years old) Sendec STS 5000, but I think it is now sold as the FS-500. Same functions.

hey guys thanks for all the tips i got the one that daves has i think its the 500 model are you guys using the alligator clip or just wrapping the wire around the plug wire . i also ordered g2d intake block he had about 7 left i bought 2 he also said that they were stock zenoah so they should be legal if anyone whats to buy one. :thumbsup: brad

I have got to ask, Why are tachs being used on the 1/4 Scale cars? Are they programmable or linked to a R/C telem unit or RS232 downloadable for racing information?

I can answer that. It isn't a real big advantage, but it does help in figuring out the gear at different tracks. Also, if you've ever used a smaller or larger tire, your gear ratio will change ever so slighley, and using a different gear to get the optimal RPM is what you are looking for. I used a tach for the first year and half, took it out and did about the same. However I had to rely on lap times and how it felt. I'm putting it back in the truck for this year, because I've never run truck before. It's going to be intresting to get a base line to go by...
