View Full Version : Long Shaft Aurora G+ Armature?

Through working with my original Aurora G+ cars and doing the ol' reconditioning thing, I noticed my "bestest" car (the Ligier F1) had a different armature than the rest. Now, it is a super G with the orange magnets and all that but I have a couple other super G's that don't possess this armature.

What is different about it is the shaft on the front is longer than any others. It sticks out well past the bearing. It's been way too long to recall if I might have swapped armatures with something else...we're talking the early 80's here. I doubt I would have done that though.

Any thoughts on this long shaft armature? Was this the standard Super G arm back then and the others I have were swapped by me?

Vintage Aurora Speedsteer cars have long Arms........often lower ohms as well, always thought it had something to do witht he slotless aspect. Thses arms make a nice 4x4 conversios as well since the arm length is just far enough it could sink with a drive axle on the front wheels.
