View Full Version : Newbie stupid question
Racenut53 01-23-2008, 03:53 PM How do we hook up personal transponder when both servos take up ch 1&2 and reciever bat plugs to Bat plug. Running 1/10th scale with ESC didn't need reciever plug!
Thought I would ask before splicing wires :freak:
Thanks Joey
Tim Mc 01-23-2008, 04:22 PM Joey,
That's not a stupid question by no means. Since all of my receivers have a third channel I have not crossed this problem. I'm sure somewhere in the transponder instructions it will explain this problem. I would think that a Y-harness should solve the problem? I'll ask around myself to see what I come up with.
jeffdavis38 01-23-2008, 04:45 PM You need a Y adapter with 2 female and 1 male Plugs. I make my own Y adapters out of two wire extensions. That way you can make them any lenth.
Freddie's Hobbies 01-23-2008, 05:12 PM Any Hobby store has Y adaptors just plug it in and use the empty on for the Transponder DONE !
Tim Mc 01-23-2008, 05:33 PM Shouldn't it be two females and one male? Male to receiver....female for servo & female for transponder....right?You need a Y adapter with 1 female and two male Plugs. I make my own Y adapters out of two wire extensions. That way you can make them any lenth.
jeffdavis38 01-23-2008, 05:42 PM You right tim I thinking to fast. I have way to much going on right now. Its the same as a steering Y conecter.
You can also just hard wire it.
Chance62 01-23-2008, 07:46 PM I would suggest buying a Y harness as everyone has mentioned. However I cut the wire of just one color. Lets say red. I will leave the black connected then connect the two red wires of the felmale ends to a terminal on an on/off switch and the other red wire (male end) will go to the other terminal on the on/off switch. This way you can turn power off to your car as well as the transponder. I dont know if that makes sense?
Chance
Mine is hard wired and turns on and off with switch.
DC HAVOC 01-23-2008, 10:31 PM My 2ch reciever has str/thr/batt/and aux. the aux is where I plug mine in to.
