Rare Ferrari worth $100 if it was mint... (http://cgi.ebay.com/Ferrari-rare-original-Aurora-model-motoring_W0QQitemZ220194753021QQihZ012QQcategoryZ2 618QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
Bill Hall 01-23-2008, 03:04 AM Now Leonard, we all know that the "inhood" speed hole was a rare factory option.
The gigantor machine screw in the rear post was an off shoot of the period correct handling pans....the added mass keeps those full race gumbos planted securely into either the track or the wheel well. I think it was a dealer option.
Obviously an original, see the elmers glue schlobber used to secure the guide pin? Clearly a pre CA car and most certainly commanding the coin befitting a vintage racer.
I believe the purple top spray over tan carcass was a rare factory option as well.
This baby belongs in the Model Murdering Museum of "slotrocities". All it needs is a few dogbites or soldering iron burns to put it in the crown jewel category. One can only hope that the solid rivet chassis has been drunkenly drilled for proper venting and weight saving.
Wow I got three shoeboxes full of hundred dollar cars?!!!! I'd better get selling. ;)
RacerDave 01-23-2008, 12:14 PM Bill, you have a way with words for sure. Slotrocity is a good one and it does fit that picture. Now I gotta go and put a bid on that beauty. Dave.
Dranoel Dragon 01-23-2008, 02:09 PM I wouldn't go over $175 if I were you. That's really pushing the collector value.
1976Cordoba 01-23-2008, 07:07 PM A lot of times I don't bother clicking auction links just because, but once Bill started rambling on I had to see what this car was all about.
All I can say is that thing is a total pipe.
SwamperGene 01-23-2008, 07:25 PM That dude is sitting on a virtual slot museum http://cgi.ebay.com/Ferrari-Long-Chassis-T-jet_W0QQitemZ220194755616QQihZ012QQcategoryZ2618QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
martybauer31 01-23-2008, 09:16 PM I want you all to know I am sniping every single one of these jewels from you with 5 seconds to go. Then I will take pictures of them and gloat and laugh and gloat some more......
RacerDave 01-23-2008, 09:20 PM If that's how it's gonna be, I am gonna go bump my max bid to $999.99. I know a great deal when I see one. Dave.

If I didnt permanently damage my vision on the first link, SwamperGene's second link surely finished the job.

Hey those are some rare cars. I am watching this auction (110215643090) and the other three Aurora auctions going off. I am hoping to get all four together as finding a replacement for any or all will be hard. lol
