View Full Version : which 2wd buggy 22Dasher 01-22-2008, 07:44 PM I'm lookingat either the AE B4 or the new Kyosho RB5 would like input from you all on both pos and neg. James nayslayer 01-22-2008, 08:08 PM wrong thread, to post these questions eman1 01-22-2008, 08:33 PM Dont see why this is the wrong thread, it is the offroad racing thread and they are offroad buggies. But i will say you cant really go wrong either way, they are both good buggies IMHO. I only have experiance with the Kyosho and it is awsome, very well built and handles great!!! I know a few others that have the same thought on this buggy also. Cant say much as of the AE car but from what i have seen they are very similar handling and such. 22Dasher 01-22-2008, 08:35 PM Thanks eman I hadn't been in 1/10 buggies in a very long time and just really wasn't sure which of the 2 overall is the better buggy. Kyosho seems to stay on top of things but the AE buggies have been around for ages. eman1 01-22-2008, 08:45 PM I agree, AE has been doing the 2wheel buggy thing forever. The RB-5 is a great car and its all allen head screws not typical phillips screw driver (typical kyosho 8th scale screw style) which makes wrenching on it really nice. I dont know what your LHS carries but if it gets kyosho easy go for it!!! That is the only thing about the K- car, is getting the parts at your LHS. Also on a side note this was my first 2wd buggy and it was a big differance from my truggy and buggy but it handles very well comparing how much different it is. 22Dasher 01-22-2008, 08:59 PM pretty much the LHS is a track side deal and everyone runs AE cars for the most part. I'm not worried so much for parts as I'll just get plenty of spares just in case. I'm more interested in which of the 2 overall is the better handling car if that make sense. I guess like the 4 wd I'm gonna have to get one of ea and see for my self ;) eman1 01-22-2008, 09:04 PM If thats the case then i would go kyosho to be different and because its a very good car. I couldnt tell you about the 4wd other then the 8th scale kyosho's. ccm399 01-22-2008, 10:34 PM +1 on the Kyosho. Good car. Nothing wrong with the AE car though. The RB5 is very durable and handles well as eman has mentioned. What's up Eman?!?!?! Been racing 2 wheel anywhere? eman1 01-22-2008, 11:34 PM Nope havent had the chance to go racing im hoping some time soon tho!!! TOYMINATOR 01-23-2008, 01:15 AM I am an avid racer and after 12 years of running Associated I have switched to Losi now after running Losi trucks and buggys for 11 monthes. I am convinced losi makes a superior vehicle to ALL vehicles out there. I have replaced 1 diff gear and 1 front a arm on my Losi truck. I have also cracked 1 shock tower on my XXX4 G+ in 3 months with a Novak 3.5 brushless and Li-Po I have yet to break anything more than a shock ball end on my 1/8 8ight buggy. And I hit a car full throttle at the end of the straitway wide open. It sounded like a gun going Off "Crack".Needless to say they pulled off the other buggy in two pieces. I have one of the fastest buggys out there. I have ran against Al Horne and my buggy will give him a run for his money. I wouldnt beat him because I dont drive as well but my buggy is FAST! I pulled it off the track with a chunk of plastic jamed in the front lower shock screw. I was amaised No broken parts. The reason I changed to losi was The last time I was in Joliet IL. racing. I was 3rd in the A Main MOD. Truck with my T4 went to check my transponder and got bumped rolling over a 8" double jump I was just rolling and got taged from behind the truck broke ANOTHER steering knuckle!!!Only about the 50th Ive broke through the years. I called for a MIN. got into the race 30 seconds down and finished 4th out of 9. Not too bad out of 80+ truck racers. My friends that I raced with all drive Losi they ragged me so bad I bought a new Losi 8ight. After asembling the buggy and seeing the Quality, all 13 of my vehicles went on E Bay and I have been racing Losi ever since. I had 5 full sets of breakage parts to keep my truck on the track. Every week I watch Associated and Koyosho vehicles break and just have to laugh!!!! I have a friend that said "If he buys a Losi and stops running that Associated CRAP! we are all in trouble! Well I did it and He hasent raced since I beat him every weekend! I am not saying Losi vehicles don't break but I would buy a NEW CR buggy If I were you. The new XXXT CR is Awsome! Give it a try you won't be sorry. dasupacat 01-23-2008, 07:28 AM I used to race Losi Vehicles and used to brake front arms on my XXXCr all the time. Now I drive a B4 and havn't broke a damn thing since I got it 2mo. ago. I saw a fellow racer break a front arm/rear plate this weekend on his CR. He is a VERY good driver. All I thought was that I'm glad there's no EA3 on my car. I'm not saying one is better than the other. Any car out there will do whether it be Kyosho RB5, Losi XXXCR, AE B4 or even the Academy GV2. Hit hard enough and any car will break. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
