We have Carrera's Winged Warrior set.

As those who are familiar with the set know it as a banked tri-oval. What we would like to do is replace the 2 banked curve sections in the tri-oval with flat curves and borders.

The problem is that we can't figure what is the flat turn equivilant is to the bank curve sections.

Why are you removing the banks? Seems to be a common practice even in the HO world. :eek: rr

Its a great track but we want a different kind of curve to drive through as we enter the tri-oval. Having a bank in the tri-oval the same steepness as turns 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 makes the track like a bowl. A flat curve offers some new terrain.

Just from looking at Carrera's Track planner (because I do not have this track nor any other Carrera track) you currently would have a setup that is using the Banked Curve 1/30* which should be in 6 pieces that make up turns 1 & 2 and 6 more pieces that make up turns 3 & 4, correct? If that is correct, then you can replace those 12 pieces with either 12 Curve 1/30* (part number 20577) or 6 Curve 1/60* (part number 20571). I hope that helps!

If you notice the bank curves are designated as 2/30 degrees. The first number is the radius of the curve which for Carrera is 1 thru 4 (1 being the tightest radius). The second number is the length of the curve in degrees. So it would take 6 - 30 degree curves to make a 180 degree turn. To replace the bank curves you will need 2 - #20572 Curve 2/30.
