J and M Hobbies carries a complete line of 230RC motors that is completely gone (by WRP Racing Engines) to make sure each motor is in tip top condition before being release. If you need tech support after the sale on the motors you can call me as i build each motor per QSAC Spec.

I thought the motors were suppose to be stock right out of the box . Explain what's involved in preping a racing motor .

The motor are taken apart and resealed with gasket sealer to make sure there are know air leaks. The factory motors have know sealer on the gasket. This price is not a WRP engine this will add $50.00 to the total.

I don't think it's true either because I won the sprints in dallas with a redcap that's never been tore down . No gasket sealer either .

I have said over and over that a particular motor may be a tad better than another but, it all comes down to how free the car is thru the corners that makes it fast down the straight! Also you guys that go thru the corners without pulling the trigger, your already slower! Many years ago Steve Cheeks told me if I wasn't pulling the trigger, the car wasn't going forward! A few years later when Steve was out of racing, Terry Rea came over while I was on the track and told me to pull the trigger in the corners and TRUST the car! Coming from two front runners, it finally sank in. My main goal during on track set-up is to be able to have the least amount of lull or non trigger and still go fast in the corners without a lot of binding which brings to mind something Gary Crumb told me. Dial in as little steering as possible on your transmitter and MAKE the power of the motor turn the car. My car will hardly turn under slow or caution laps but when I just blip the throttle in the corner, it will turn almost by itself! Food for thought, it isn't always the other guys motor that making him faster!

That right rattler you hit the nail on the head. The car its self makes it fast. Its not all motor. But you put two good cars on the track at the same time then it becomes Motor Tuning , and Driver.

Well there are some variables such as carb adjustments, fuel mixture and clearances on each motor but for the most part under the load that we apply to these motors, there's not going to be a huge difference like some guys think! All of the above tend to help push the envelope on HP but all in all, it still comes down to driver ability (reason for NEEDING a GN class) and chassis set-up! Heck I have taken what I call a junk motor although still good and running, and beat my best motor that was loaned to a friend just because I was able to roll thru the corners better than him. You could plainly see a difference from his when he throttled up but by then I was already gone thru the corner and out! Corner speed will definitely show you where you stand. Like I said, if your slow in the corners, your slow down the straights and vice versa!

Rattler...ditto the amount of dual rate in the radio usually will tell ya if you got a good car in the corner barely breath on the wheel car turns and seems to drive itself nothing like it almost makes it easy!!!!
