Another tabled project from my End of Year and Yoder contest mock ups.

Again inspired by a build in Drag's rat rod thread, this time by Gear Buster.
Cherry began life as a real turd of a tan HR roadster.

The HR's cockpit was cut out as well as the trunk and rear valence. The modified shell was nothched to accept the new roof pillars. A four gear "A" model panel roof was sectioned to narrow and chopped for height. The new roof section was bonded to what was left of the HR.

Stock grill was removed and a more standard "A" type shell was fabbed from a Tyco Lamborghini front fender/flare. The lower core support is a Ford J rocker reshaped and notched to fit. Double rear window was filed into an oval for giggles.

Typically the chassis is perverted...er I mean converted for ride height. Sitting in t-jet standard red , also unblocked and set aside this fall...so I "fergit" what the guts are but it runs out nice! :p

Looking forward to getting back to this one!

Are you going to add black mesh for a grill or pehaps black out the front post?
Or both...?

First off, Thanx guys! Yer all very kind. She's far from finished but the end of year has gone by and I wanted to share some black box projects with y'all.

Nice...

Yes Scott, Funny you should ask! If you look close at pic2 a relief was routed around the underside of the grill surround. This slot accepts a stainless mesh grill that was prefit early on. Barring any unforseen complications it should slip right in when the time comes.

I vegged this relief cut on the earlier slime green Riddler and had to painstakingly scribe the relief in after the fact...I vowed never again!
Inside grill reliefs are now cut in prior to any grill shell bonding....duuuuuh! :freak:

Bob, The oval window was something I brought back from one of my early Deuces...Planning on a Ford script logo to go on the glass in the final details.

Ed, Ha ha ha lemmee finish it first! Dont think it would be suitable for casting unless you use a slimmy. This chassis is shaved closer than Yul Brynner's brain bucket. LOL. Even with a slimmy the front ride height could potentially be 4X4 as the slimmy doesnt have the truck hole to run the bottomed out drop position. The front wheel and tire selction might be affected in a trickle down effect as well. I'd mock it up but I sent you all my slim line stuff! ;)

They cant all be green Joe! Isnt pink a shade of green? ;)

Oh yeah ya did Buster! It was a chopped A body in black with red accents with a humongous chrome motor shoehorned in the front. Had to have something similar in T-jet form.

Think I'll pass on the roof hole though :p...That roof section was no easy deal and I coudnt bring myself to jam the moto tool through it...er could I?

Cutting holes in roof 101...
Take dremmel in hand, aim toward roof center, drill hole in center and cut with an outward motion to desired size...
It is that easy.... :freak: LOL
