Aurora never continued on the Batman theme so I proceeded in slime green. Had four different cars going at the time of Yoders recent custom contest and settled on the yellow Lincoln Sport Coupe, this was actually a mock up for the end of year dealio.
This build was inspired by an ultra slammed rat rod Yoder did last fall. This light yellow bod was culled from the "maybe box". Recieved it naked with all it's goodies gone. Also included were busted screw posts with shrunken divots topside the rear valence was cracked.
Basic repairs were completed. Then the roof chop. Stock grill was removed. The new grill shell is actually my usual indy nose graft with a twist. It was shortened in height and the width was stretched, from it's normal mounting perspective. Basically the curves didnt jive so things had to move around. It was then rotated 90 degrees to fit it's new position on the HR.
Naturally the chassis is shaved to fit. Guts are courtesy of Dragjet Resins in the form of a nasty blue armed Drag Pack. Skins are PVTs. Top coat is cooked from a slime green Tyco dumptruck by way of Bobzilla.
Currently on the top of my list as a fav. Goes like a bullet and handles superbly. I'll take one more silly putty impression to see if theres anymore room to drop down...but I'm fairly certain this is close to rock bottom.
Most of the bitties are fabbed up 'cept for the glass. Needs a good blocking and a re-spray or two. This is where I left off some months ago.

As always you guys are very charitable and too kind. This 'lil green bucket was a joy to do and it just felt right. I've been chasing a particular look for Aurora's hotrod. Each time I've added or deleted something along the way. All in all I'm thinkin' this is close to what I'm after.

Awwww bastage! "NEAL" ya spoiled the final surprise! ;)
Yeah "Bob", In the bitter end, when I'm on the cold slab; They'll go to embalm me and liquid Aurora goop will have to be pumped out first. No doubt that icky shade of brown I invented during some of my purple experiments!
No, "Hill Top" not really a secret! Just liquified Aurora plastic from junk bodies. Been documented by Mike Vitale MEV for some time. Being allergic to resin I had to have a different medium to play cars with.
Over the last two years I've made some changes to the original process that allows bulk material to be somewhat at hand; as well as brushable glazing and the logical end... spraying! The plasic is cut with testors liquid cement until it makes a sticky base aka "Bondo". The base is thinned by 50% to make a colored glaze like "Evercoat". The glaze is again thinned to a sprayable viscosity that allows complete re-shoots in genuine plastic. Truthfully I just took 1:1 production autobody techniques and applied them to the original Vitale process.
No real secrets or magic, trial and error mostly. Like any material it has its good and bad points. Best way to describe it is thick Nail Polish. It also has a wonderful property of bonding seamlessly at the chemical level rather than being a topical application dependant on adhesion. Done correctly the bonds are equally as strong as the parent material....cuz it IS the same material!

Can anyone else imagine this car and the "CherryPie" running shoulder to shoulder on their track? How cool would that* be? :)
Bill, this is another amazing piece. I am not real partial to lime green but for this one, I make an exception. LOL!

Thanx Dave,
I try and keep things simple... LOL... but thats easier said then done. I get carried away pretty quickly ...and the next thing ya know I've spent 20 er 30 minutes a night over a week, worrying some little modification into place.
Steve, We missed ya! Yeah this one is easy to keep track of. Honestly I'm not real happy wih how the Tyco plastic sprayed out.... a little cottage cheesy for my liking...Most of the Aurora plastic lays out beautifully with killer shine and no buffing. Considering shooting one or two thin coats of a translucent standard green on top to tone things down a miniscule and pop some better shine.
Good eye Joe, More or less the two were done side by side, and purposely designed to compliment one another. I'm thinking they'd need to be in a "Drive In" diorama/scene.
