I wanted to start a track thread for LPR since the majority of us post in the QSAC thread.

We welcome the 10th scale electric racers to join us at least one race per month...or more!! LPR was built on electric racing and is always open for the electric crowd. Yes I said crowd. There are many electric racers throughout Miss, GA, Fl, Tenn & Al that are looking for a central location. Well, LPR is that location!! So, come on guys call your buddies. Pull those racers out of the woodworks. Dust off the chassis & cycle those batteries. It is a new season and another opportunity to get you guys racing together regularly!

See you at the track.

If you guys are interested, please PM me with your email addys &/or phone numbers. I will do my best to get everyone on the same page with race dates and classes. I will gladly create a page on our site with location 1/10 electric racing information.

Let me know.

I don't mean to sound like I have never raced electric before but what classes are being raced these days (most popular)?

mwalker
01-20-2008, 08:46 PM
to be honest i dont know either,i went to my first race in 9 years yesterday,i saw 4 cells stock, brushless and a novice class called breakout....they also ran mini's and sliders(4 wheel drive touring cars last night at the track)

Tim Mc

4 cell stock was the class that was once popular at LPR. 19t was the other. We can accomondate any class with our track size.

Brushless/lipo. Some are running 17.5 with the lipo batts which is about like a 19t 4cell. Others are running 21.5 with the lipo's. Depends what people want to run.

Msey

Depending on the temps 4 greens or blues on the right and greens on the left. The new pink compound will work good too.

mwalker

Depending on your speeds I am sure what works on the 1/10 gas will work for 1/10 electric. Silvers, Golds. No need for the net tires, maybe some type of spec tire. Tim I'll help if the electrics come to play.

Tim, Chip got involved with a company selling racing radios for big cars last spring. That took up most of his weekends traveling to Birmingham and other race tracks. He still has his rc stuff, so, maybe we can get him to lpr this year.

Tim Mc
01-22-2008, 10:20 PM
Hey, maybe he can get us a deal on a used or new radio set for the club? We were just talking about racing radios at our meeting.

hope we can make this fun again...... ci wish there was a way to even the playing field....one of the things that ran alot of people of was running with people who were better and had more money...ii just ran in a stock class this weekend where everybody ran the same gear ratio and it was fun.....things were simple and big dollar guys seem to want to run brushless anyway......it was'nt the money that ran me from the hobby years ago,it was always being dominated by drivers who were years better than me....kind of suxs to always be 3 laps down.....oh well,i digress...

work smarter not harder! Don't keep getting beat by the fast guys, ask questions, watch what they do, there is a reason they are fast. Most of all, PRACTICE! Get to the track early and leave late, this hobby is work to some degree but the rewards of hard work makes it all worth while. Getting a podium finish, because you earned it is way better than buying it. I know I have done it both ways.

If you guys together can decide the class(s) & the org rules you would like to run under and I'll get that information on our site. shouldn't be much to it on the rules maybe just a gentlemens agreement in place should work for this class. i am sure i can put some input in to get some stuff in place for 1/10th electric.

Anything is ok with me as far as rules. the 4600 batts have came out but the ones I have have lower voltage than the good 4200s. I would think that Pink compound tires would be the best overall for electric.

gilly,i believe the hyperdrive is a 510....got it rtr with 2 extra chassis and 2 more speed controls and servos...bunch of extra parts.....it was a deal i could not pass up.. no problem i ran a 510 for about three years and the 0500 for more years than i can count before that so getting this car dialed not a problem it should be an excellent car at lpr also if i have any extra pieces for one laying around i will give em to you i did have several pieces if i have not given them all away the last few years is it the woven graphite or the black magic graphite
