For those of you who have tried it, how does 21.5/ lipo compare to 4-cell stock on a small tight oval (70 ft. runline). overall is it slower faster etc?

View Full Version : how does 21.5/lipo compare to 27t 4-cell? charger01 01-16-2008, 11:44 AM For those of you who have tried it, how does 21.5/ lipo compare to 4-cell stock on a small tight oval (70 ft. runline). overall is it slower faster etc? swtour 01-16-2008, 12:22 PM it should prove to be a bit faster. On bigger tracks it's 4-5 laps faster in early runs (and will probably continue to get faster as guys refine it) I would expect it to be a tad slower than what a 13.5 4cell would run w/o the PUNCH off the corners. These motors don't accelerate like a STOCK motor, but once up to speed they don't seem to slow down or bog down as much. charger01 01-16-2008, 12:32 PM Thanks swtour, am I correct in saying that brushless is faster on large tracks compared to a smaller tight track? In other words 21.5 will be 4-5 laps faster on a large track compared to 27 turn, but the gap narrows when you deal with a small track? swtour 01-16-2008, 12:49 PM I think that once guys find the right ratio, even on the smaller tracks, you'll see the 21.5/LIPO run quicker than STOCK ... everywhere. Depending on how quick the local guys adapt and get the gearing and handing right w/ the 21.5 (Some places this will happen QUICKLY - others may be a bit slower making the change.) So many tracks have guys that have AWESOME Brushed 27t set ups for their motors AND their cars... The Lipo cars do handle a little different and drive a LOT different. Long and Short - I think 21.5 will be FASTER across the board. (That short of a track, you are probably running what 140 laps in 5 minutes?) charger01 01-16-2008, 01:46 PM .................................................. ...................................... RCMits 01-17-2008, 08:24 PM being that i raced against 21.5 lipo's with my 27t/4cell, i'll say i was about 3-4 laps behind. on the straights they pulled on me quite hard.... so in the long run you have to pull outta the way to not get rammed... so yes... a bit faster. again.. im not that fast of a 27t driver .... ;-) vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
