View Full Version : JUSTME bad seller!!!
420 Tech R/C 01-15-2008, 08:00 PM I bought a novak GTB speed o and 10.5 motor off this guy on x-mas day, when the stuff arrived the speedo was missing the heatsink, which had been replaced with an aluminum plate. No big deal except for it sure wasnt mentioned by the seller and when I contacted him about it his reply was "Iwon the b-main at snowbirds last year with that set-up, it works perfect" and that was it. so I contacted him again and asked why he didnt disclose that info about the heat sink because it sure would have been nice to know since I bought the speedo to put in a mod 4wd dirt car, so a REAL heatsink was needed.still no reply from him 2 weeks later, so I am posting to give you guys heads up to make sure you get DETAiLED pics from this guy if you want to chance buying from him. Since then I have tested the speedo and motor. The speedo thermals in about 2 minutes flat running a 17.5 in 4-cell 1/12, and the 10.5 motor has bearing issues in the front end bell, so the speedo is off to novak for repair, and the motor has become spare parts.asintered rotor was the only real good thing since it wasnt even a 10.5, but a beat up ss4800.( same thing Iknow, but it was listted as a 10.5, not an ss4800 with the sintered upgrade). So all you guys that were waiting in line to buy this on x-mas day, I should have let one of you buy it because it sure wasnt a deal. oh well youknow what they say, if it sounds to good to be true, it probally is!!
Demon-TC3 01-18-2008, 08:13 PM Dude that sucks bad - if i where in your place i woud claim it through Paypal. either that or demand he pays the repair costs for the GTB - that is just plain unnaceptable. it doesnt make a difference what he's won, he may as well say "it belonged to andy moore" that doesnt make it better or make it work!

iroczcec 01-19-2008, 10:05 AM dont waste your time with paypal i bought a ss+ esc from david washburn and the port were you plug the sensor wire from the brushless motor was messed up and it was missing the harness to connect esc to reciever filed a paypal claim and they told me they cannot recover funds do to missrepresentation of product only if i did not recieve the product at all. i feel your pain!
Demon-TC3 01-19-2008, 10:13 AM yea you can, if the item is substantially different from that advertised then you can make a case. in this situation im pretty sure it is greatly different...

420 Tech R/C 01-19-2008, 02:10 PM The guy wouldnt take payment through paypal, he would only accept a money order. Now I know why.He knew that it was shady and he was going to catch flack over it and didnt want to deal with a paypal claim. So i am just s.o.l. and its going to cost me around 75.00 to have novak repair the speedo and replace the heat sink.I could have bought a brand new one for what I will end up having into this ' GOOD DEAL' .Oh well we live , we learn, we Know not to make the same mistake.

the item i bought was broken and missing parts i would say it was not described like that! paypal told me to bad! what do you work for paypal maybe you can get me my money back? would you like me to foward paypla reply that they can not refund money for item not being as describe!
Demon-TC3 01-19-2008, 06:33 PM No im fine -really.
I read about ur case too man, i thought it sucked bad. i dont work for paypal, neither do i know anyone that does. but where you claim for a refund, there is an option saying "item received is substantially different from that described". for ebay items it is easier to claim as the description is on the auction site- for forum purchases its not so easy for paypal to review so you may get nowhere. i would ring paypal and just say, the item is broken, plain and simple - dont confuse them with random RC technichal crap - just say, it doesnt work as it should. If the seller is that much of a screwball that they dont support their own sold items or that they sell an item that isnt how its supposed to be, they deserve to lose all the money they got from the sale.

iroczcec 01-25-2008, 10:51 AM thats the option i chose and they still did nothing i gave them detailed reports about the item i had qoutes from the seller and they basically told me theres nothing they could do about it as long as i recieved item but on the up side i tore the thing apart clean away the melted plastic order the wiring harness that i didnt recieve and the esc is working fine. but i am telling you paypal was no help this was the second claim to them the first one i didnt even recieve the items and i won the case but never got my money. but after staying with it i recieve my items 2 months later thru the dudes girlfriends help.
Demon-TC3 01-25-2008, 10:54 AM i had to chase paypal up 2 days ago and i actually agree- they are COMPLETELY useless. if you ask the wrong question they will bounce you from person to person forever. its like they hire a million people and teach each one of them a single question - u better hope your question isnt a popular one and there aint a que at one persons desk because common sence means nothin to them!
