Hello All:

Looking for a person who would be able to match magnets for me. I have been looking for Fast Ones / Ron Hershman, but I do not know his web site.
He has done some work for me in the past, is he still around?

Thanks

You can match your own magnets and check the strength by taking a plastic pill bottle and glue a piece of steel in the cap.

Then put coins in the bottle to see how many it takes to hold the bottle to the magnet.

Thanks SuperFist:

I have a BRP magnet machine, I was wondering if their is better way to match them up.

Yes, a guassmeter is a better way but even cheap ones are hundreds of dollars.

The BRP magnet matcher is just as good a guassmeter since you are matching them not looking for Gauss readings. If you are looking for an easier way there isn't one except purchasing them already matched :) I glued a piece of chassi to my magnet matcher so that the armature hole was directly over the probe. This way when I put my magnets in they were at the exact same distance form the probe

Voxxer (Jon),

I still have a gauss meter. I can match some magnets for you. In fact, I just re-calibrated it. One of the FRHO club members purchased a calibration standard (>$600 OUCH!) and all of us that have gauss meters are now using it to calibrate our meters.
So, I can match your magnets and give you accurate strength measurements.
