Well gang......it's finally here. After over 2 years of design reviews and development efforts by the CRC team, Calandra Racing Concepts is making its entry into the 10th scale oval market. I'm attaching some pics of the car that will be making it's debut this year at Snowbirds.

This car is based on the tremondous success of the CRC Gen-X 12th scale on-road car. It incorporates a solid one piece chassis, monoball dual link suspension system, and, by far, the most accessable rear pod ever designed. This car represents the first 10th scale oval car purpose-built for brushless racing. Easy motor access, huge gear ratio potential, and large mounting surface for any brushless ESC. The front end has a fresh approach to length and width adjustability, and the universl servo mount system is best-in-class.

Check it out........

Wow... that is the wildest oval car I ever seen. Looks like the pod is straight off the Gen X, that new brushless pod.

Any idea when it will be available? How much?

guys, this is an ausome car. you will not be disapointed. its the wave of the future with the arival of brushless technology. tons of room for the brushless motors and or brushed motors and u can fit a ton of gear on it. the adjustable battery is nice deal too. it can be moved in or out with a couple screws. alot of great features that current cars do not have. this is cutting edge technology.

as far as price i dont know what it will be as of yet and name is yet to be determined. anybody have any ideas for a name post it here.

steve, got to late last night to wait for u. i will post my car pics tonight when i get home.

How about the name the PRODIGY. Being that it is the spawn of other designs by CRC..

"Progeny" would be the word for that.

I went to dictionary.com to make sure it was right, and posted the wrong meaning of the word. sorry for the wrong definition. Thanks for clearing it up..

I only busted your chops because it was you Mike. LOL :)

"Prodigy" would be a good name too though!

If we're sticking with cutting implements then I go with "Scalpel"

"Cuts the corners with the precision of a surgeon!"

LOL

Scalpel is already taken for Robitronics' little 18th scale pan car or whatever.
I prefer Chainsaw...a little bit rough looking but sure gets the job done.
Or the Picasso, 'cause its a bit abstract but still a work of art :)

this is a pic of my crc 10th scale car and currently there is about 4 or 5 of these babies and more on they way. the only thing missing is the front bumper and body mounts because i had a mishap with my radio last week and distroyed it. it went to the wall at full bore twice and killed the bumper but the rest of the car stayed in tact.

i must say alot of work went into this car and i would like to thank Frank Calandra himself first and foremost and second Matt Levy("Mr. Macgyver"). Without them this car would not have not made its first apearance at the Billy leader memorial race in syracuse, ny. the only thing i didnt like was the 48 hour wrench session to get the cars ready to go for the race. without them, my experience with this car would have been a total nightmare. without any track time my first run on the car was my first heat on saturday. just before the heat went off, matt made a couple small adjustments to the car and it was on rails. the only thing i was lacking was horsepower..oh well, thats another story. thanks guys.

I would like to see some better links on the car. By using those one piece links you can not adjust for slop when the cups wear or adjust the ball tension. I have a 3.2 car and I love using it on carpet but even after a few hits I am looking to replace the links. With my Darkside MX2 I just run Du-Bro heavy frcition free links with Chrome balls.

With adjustable links like the MX2 you could add rear steer!!!!

New Name? CRC - Chain Reaction
(Pun being that it is a linked car and links make up chains)

That is called a mono ball (one ball) setup. no t plate required.

i'll have a couple of back end pics for you in a few minutes. stand by.

I seeeee....

Are the two "swingarms" adjustable or fixed length?

And how do you get a body on around that jar of peanut butter?

wait a minute
01-15-2008, 01:36 AM
they are one piece links but they could be converted to be adjustable so u could put in rear steer if you chose to.

as far as the peanut butter jar goes..not sure how that got in the pic. i guess it being a carpet knife of sorts i guess u could spread peanut butter pretty easily with it..lol. just cant forget the jelly though..lol

If this car is the "wave of the future" than Lipo mounting should be considered to complete the package! Looks awesome! Love the open pod!

The links pictured are the same ones from the 1/12 car and are a fixed length. There is a second set of holes further forward that allows you to use longer links. The Dubro ends will work with those.

If you put adjustable links on the car you can use them to setup rear steer. You can also raise the front of the links to adjust roll steer into the car.

It may be a little hard to tell in the pics, but both sides of the front end can be moved in or out to adjust the width/offset of the front end.

Wasn't Trinity's 1/10 pan car called the evolution (I get that and their direct drive dirt oval car confused).

I also thought someone had a 1/12 car called the rug burn.

How bout the "WFO"? You oldtimers will get it...tested that car 10 years ago.

Looks nice, would like to see wider batt slots for use on banks. nothing bumpy enough here in the NE to benefit from the mono-ball setup. Possible to adapt a T-Plate option available?
