View Full Version : Is this a common error?
masphx 01-10-2008, 05:09 PM I found this today. Not into errors so it might come up FT.
The back wheel has no writing on it. A GM is on ebay right now with this same type of error going for mucho $$$.

96gsfan 01-10-2008, 07:45 PM Looks like a different tire. I thought maybe it was turned backwards when I first saw it.
GLH Turbo 01-10-2008, 09:43 PM More common than you think.

On mine, the tire was just reversed as I could make out the lettering on the inside of the tire.

You spelled "dorF" wrong! :D
I guess no one is safe from these types of errors.

Now thats a good question, Mine is 1 yours is 2 and you said there's one on Ebay, Thats 3. Are they all the same car? Looks like we are heading in the Variation direction on this one.

masphx 01-26-2008, 07:36 PM Bvis75,
Mine is the same. No print on both sides of the tires.
The one on epay was a green machine of a different mustang.
69Stang 01-27-2008, 12:24 PM I just hope that collectors will treat Greenlight much like they do Johnny Lightning. That is where an error is just that, an error. JL cars carry no real value for a mistake.
I have never understood why the Hot Wheels crowd has made bad quality control into into something to be valued and treasured. So I hope that the market will treat GL the way they do JL. You get no points for a mess up.

My guess is that when you have 1 billion of the same car out there, anything that makes it unique will be of value.

I'm with you on this one, Mattel has turned screwing up into a cottage industry.
There was a time where lettin a casting through with mixed wheels or a missing interior would get someone fired, they're probably gettin' employee of the month now. Just plain wrong.
Sure as hell nothing to be proud of!
mark w 08-29-2008, 11:01 PM i dont know about knocking those wheelers some of those varies and errors r pretty cool when u get em 4 a buck.
