Who is planning on going to Daytona the end of March for the speedway spectacular? There is going to be a lipo/21.5 class!!

Cliff_S
01-10-2008, 05:05 PM
I'm going for sure. I will probably just run the nitro car.

garacer08
01-10-2008, 09:58 PM
I am thinking about going. I may run brushless/lipo. I have a 17.5 but guess I need to get a 21.5. What nitro classes are they running (.12!). I guess I need to also get a tire truer or get some one to help me out with some tire truing.

Echeconnee

We run .09 and .12, I gotcha covered on tire trueing. I am going to run both nitro classes and the 21.5 class, leaving the rest to the experts!I am thinking about going. I may run brushless/lipo. Count me in for Daytona. Sounds like a blast. I might haul my camper down. If I do it sleeps 4 comfortably. Ill let you know when it gets closer if I am dragging it down there or not.

Echeconnee

Well you can camp in the infield, right next to the track!!!!!!!!!!!! I know Donnie does and a few others as well. It's La Quinta and the Winghouse for me!

Guys, it's with a heavy heart I have come here to say "Echeconnee Superspeedway is closed for good" For reasons I will not express here Andy has decided to close the track and will consider no other option. Since the track is in his back yard he has 100% authority as to whether anyone can race there or not. I am very sorry this has happened and I hope we can continue to race @ another venue very soon as I will retain most of the equipment and lap counting system. The only difference will be we will probably be running on foam tires. As long as the brats are hot and smokey, it will be a good day!

Rod, shoot me an email so we can figure out what to do with our stuff. If you want to keep it in the trailer that's fine with me, but I will be hauling it back to either my apartment or my parents house. Just drop me a line and let me know what's on your mind.

Man this SUCKS!!!!!! I just found out that I am out for Daytona this year, the wife and I are trying to get our debts payed down. Then I got this news. 2008 doesn't look like its starting too hot.

Echeconnee

what we need to do is find another place to race!

rowdyrj
01-12-2008, 11:44 AM
Hopefully we can, racing with you guys is one the reasons I thought about staying in this area. Hopefully we can find another location.

Robby66
01-12-2008, 01:01 PM
We'll figure something out. We have too many racers that dont want to just up and quit.

Collinsworth24
01-12-2008, 08:23 PM
i vote for indoor on the carpet. AC in the summer time sound like the best idea since sliced bread!!!

Robby66
01-13-2008, 04:16 AM
I vote for indoor/outdoor carpet/concrete/asphalt oval. Ill take what I can get at this point. Going to be a long summer without racing.

Echeconnee
01-13-2008, 10:37 AM
There will be racing! I have talked to all but a couple of our regular group of racers and every one is on board no matter where we race, as long as it's a race. Robby, when are you scheduled to return from "vacation"?

Cliff_S
01-13-2008, 12:11 PM
I am up for racing any where we can. I think a carpet track is a great goal but for now a parking lot would be great. It really doesnt matter as long as we can continue to race.

Robby66

Echeconnee

Cliff Let me know if there is anything I can do to help out. I'm looking forward to many more great races with you all. Hopefully we can all get together next month and come up with some alternatives. I can call you this week with a better Idea of when would be a good time for the three of us, as Linda and I will be going TDY in Late Feb. If robby makes it back on time it will leave us all here for at least two weeks in the middle of the month.

Echeconnee

That's fine, I wasn't sure of when Robby was going to return and be ready to have a meeting. I am sure there will be some overlap between the time he returns and when you guys leave and we will plan in that timeframe.Cliff Let me know if there is anything I can do to help out. Cliff and Andy,
Wow, that is some super crappy news. Good luck on your quest for another facility (permanent or temperary) to race at. Hey, everyone move to Kansas!!! Here in this time little town called Ogden there is a nice vacant chunk of concrete next to the little city center. But I digress and my ramblings are really not helping the cause, again Good Luck!

i live in eastaboga,5 minutes from talladega speedway, this weekend i will try to make my first race in 8 years, planning on going up to henderson,tn....meet with a couple of guys from huntsville.there is no tracks real close, closest is lagoon, but it seems hard to get enough 10th scale to race there, for whatever reason..
