Hello, I just scored a Riggen HO Firebird cheap on e bay and had a question. The clear body fits loose on the chassis because the rocker panel area curled outward from age. The chassis has pins sticking outward from it and the body fits over these pins. Is there a safe way to bend it back? I don't want to risk damage because it has no cracks and looks like the original paint job inside the body. I thought of soaking it in hot water, but am afraid of destroying the paint. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Glen

What about trying a blow dryer? Use it from a distance and low heat. May give you enough heat where it won't melt the plastic and allow you to bend the paint without creating some cracks. Would be great if you had a piece of scrap to test with. Let us know what you come up with. :) rr

Tried the hair dryer and it worked great. The body is made tougher than I thought. I ended up using high heat up close for a few seconds and bending right after heat removal. Thanks!
