I went to a store the other day not far from my house. It's called "Resource Island", and they sell educational toys, and stuff for school or daycare centers. I mostly went in to see what they had in the "Take Along Thomas" line for my daughter, not expecting much in diecast. There wasn't much in diecast, about 30-40 Hot Wheels from early 2007, and around 50-60 of these "Siku" cars.

I wasn't sure if $2.50 each was a good price or not, but I've never seen them available elsewhere, they are imported from Germany, so I decided to pick a few up. There were different Mercedes, VW, Porsche, and a few Mini Coopers. Not too many different colors, in fact the 5 cars I got just about covered every color though I think there was a green mini and a green vw bug.

Anyway, here's what I got. Two Porsche 911, a black hardtop, and a red cabrio with removable roof. A yellow VW Golf, a silver Mercedes SL55-AMG, and a large blue Mercedes S series.

I think that release is from '97 or so.
That's about when I got that same black Porsche.
