KSG would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. We would also like to start the new year off with a couple of new products. The first is our 1/8" Front Axles (KSG-2260 $18.95). These axles are precision machined and heat treated. They come preinstalled in the steering blocks which have been machined with a taper for clearance on the upper eyelet. The second item is our new Light Weight Body Wing Mount Kit (KSG-2270 $19.99). This system is the lightest system on the market weighing only 8.5 grams including the wing wire. The system is easy to install and creates a rigid mount for the wing. The bent wire works great on most all bodies.

Most of your local hobby shops/race tracks should have them in stock, or should be able to get them.

You can try and call lefthander. Sometimes they have something in stock, and havent had a chance to update the site.
You can also get them at
greeneville r/c speedway... Link on the right side of the page.
Windtunnel also link on the right side.

You will not be disapointed if you get a Gen 2. It is by far the best car I have worked with.

Calm down Jessie. We all know that the KSG car is the ultimate Babe Magnet. By racing a KSG, you should be able to attract the babes. It working for me...I have to fight them off. Just be careful with the 1/12 version because it attracts the younger babes that are not legal in all states!

Yes, I think the solid gen1 is every bit as good as the gen2. That is what I've been racing for the most part.

Pete D'agnolo has been running a solid prototype up here for awhile on our local flat ozite track, and the thing is killer..... (and light)

What does the "prototype" consist of? Is it basically a solid with alot removed from the chassis plate?

the car went on a serious subway diet....and i heard a few other things..with brushless the car needs to be on weight.......

It's not for me to say, but it's a serious ride, that's for sure. He has been testing a few different chassis plates, but the whip he ran last week was crazy fast in 13.5

The progression never stops with Andy Mac. that's one of the greatest things about ksg. the gen 1 was a great car that can hang with any on the market and he's constantly trying to make it twice as good as anything else.

Had a great 1-2-3 finish for the MacClellan team. though one of the cars wasn't a "KSG" it was still a MAC Design. myself and jim rufiange 1-2 with gen two's and the oldest car in the building driven by justin lessard finished 3rd with a MAC ATTACK! All new track records for rosewoods 13.5 class. just 3 laps behind the new track record for 10.5

That was a great day of racing at Rosewood. Going back to the KSG from the other cars I have been running was liking returning home. Absolutely the best cars I have ever raced.

What is the weight difference between a Gen 2 and a solid. I have to add weight to my gen 2. (rule is 40 oz.) I was thinking of experimenting with an old gen 1 solid i have laying around but wanted to know if it would be beneficial to lighten up the chassis. I am running brushed stock btw so I dont have the extra weight of brushless (not yet anyways)

katf1sh

u throw a brushless combo in the car and you get heavy fast! bigger esc's and the motor is heavier...thus a car needs a diet plan, lol.

i've got a jr3650 servo so that saves a lot and i only need a 1/4ounce piece of lead. keep your wires short. i could eliminate some steel screws and replace with titanium and run a kimbrough spur instead of prs but i think servo and short wire is prolly most key. oh, i have lipo 200mah pack on that car too. it's a slider gen 2 gtb 4 cell

We came up with a one piece KSG conversion chassis on the west coast as well. In it's very first qualifier, it set a new track record.

Hey Jesse. What brand Side springs and front springs do you use. I was looking at your setup for Easley on the KSG site and you have the color but no brand or spring rate. Each company has diff rates for the colors.

i hope this is a good place to post this.. since its kind of ksg related...

can someone help me out here.

i purchased a ORT (proto's oval race truck) body for a KSG-1 car. the rear body posts pop out right at the down side of the molded in downtubes/rollbar. i think on the ksg's we dont have the ability to move the body posts in the rear in any direction.

someone mentioned probably the ksg-2 body brace has some ability to move the body posts a couple mm's but i havent seen a ksg-2 up close to figure this out.

i could move the body forward a bit more.. but then the front wheel wells look a bit odd... i could shift the rear of the body a bit but then its a bit offset looking.... hmmm... *scratches head*

anyone have this problem? or am i not seeing somethign :|

KSG-1441

That should be the part for the KSG Gen 2 Body mount. It is a solid piece and will fit a Gen 1 car using the the center holes.

I'll also mention the problem to Andy, maybe he can make a mount that is a little different to make it easier to mount the ORT.

I looked a little closer and they do make a solid mount for the Gen 1 and I'm 90% sure it is slotted like the Gen 2 mount

I'll try that out and see if it shifts it a bit more away from the downtubes. i might have to get creative.

I'd really like to "try" this body out.. but if it can't fit.. you know? =) i got some scap pieces of thin graphite, maybe i can make something with my trusty dremel....

i appreciate your fast response!

I used the KSG-1040 and used the mount pieces to move the body posts outward. That put the body post outside of the roll bars and still allowed the slotted holes to position the body over the chassis. I mounted the pieces so that they went straight outward, or inline with the slots to get the post the farthest out. If you have a heatsink on the speedo, that might create an issue in regards to clearance but I got mine to work being I have the BRL cap.
