Which tabs do i solder my esc to on the motor? The tabs that the brushes go to or the tabs without the brushes? Thanks

I would solder on the spring side then solder the brushes on the side without springs.This makes it much easier to get the brush shunts past the springs. Also if you are using a serater it gives you much more room to serrate them without unsoldering them.

Actually it is recommended to not solder near the spring side. If you happen to hold your soldering iron on to long you may find yourself changing the spring tension. Heat will soften the spring steel.
