The Hotwheels redline guys have it easy because all castings were made in all colors just about. However Lesney also had a lot of colors, even though few models ever had more than 2 different colors plus shade variations. I like these metallic colors particularly - there is no pure yellow but the rest of the rainbow is in the range.Mostly these were silver or gold primer sprayed with a tinted clear laquer to get these attractive colors.
If theres a bunch of different colored Lesneys you own that look good together why not photograph them in a rainbow to share?
(Violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red if anybody has forgotten ;) )
These are from the main focus of my collection, 1968-72 with the metallic wine Group 6 of 1974 standing in for the 19 Lotus which wasnt available today because it was stuck inside a blister :freak:

The light yellow is the Broom Stick issue, as is the white Porsche. Here are the 2 special recolors that Lesney made in 1971 for the Broom Stick issue - these are maybe 5% of the Marzal/Porsche survivors that I see, although they usually have chips because some kid actually tried using the Broom stick with them when they were new. Both in the picture below are available for trade.

I knew about the broomsick Porsche, but forgot about the Mazral.

It almost looks like the Porsche is the thin wheels one - probably not though, huh?
I'm tempted to trade for at least the Porsche but don't know if I have anything you would want.

sounds like a cool project, you already have a good color wheel and line chart. did you created the first circle freehand (with patience) or place the cars around a cylinder and then remove the cylinder. :)
i do like the yellow marzal.
a funny close up of the marzal from the 71 selector chart with a bent axle or no axle at all.
