22Dasher 12-28-2007, 04:00 PM In the past I'd rebuild motors for my race boats and make any repairs and repaint race wounds. Currently I'm seeking to get either a 1/10th or 1/8th scale and race indoor dirt latemodel nitro class. Just can't decide on what to build.....

Tim Mc 12-28-2007, 04:07 PM LPR is working on a schedule that will gives us over twenty races in 08. We plan to have a seasonal championship series... Spring, Summer & Fall that will be tied to our regular point series (16 races +). Also have a 5 race short series that will consist of races with mains of 250 laps or more. We hoped to have a truck class in this short series too. Can't forget about the Boyd Hughes All-Star Race in Nov!
Our season should start in late Feb then run into late Nov. LOTSA RACING!!!! Watch for our schedule to be posted around the third week of January!

Tim Mc 12-28-2007, 10:42 PM I will personably be working on my trailer, my shop and anything my wife points towards :)
I have a new truck body coming that I will be mounting on my Pro1 chassis for the NCS. I will also be talking my son into returning for another season of racing and leaving girls alone...yeah right!
Mike Clark 12-29-2007, 02:47 AM Hey Tim,
Tell him that young ladies (girls) are crazy about race car drivers. Specally winners!
Kinda like Kasey Kane.

Seeing as how the holidays are over for the most part it's time to get back out in the garage and finish up getting the car ready for next season . The Mrs. is ready to ban me out there anyways because cabin fever has really set in up here on the edge of the lake . For some reason she doesn't understand car parts on the kitchen table . With nothing decent to watch on the tube I guess it is really time to head for the shop . As for the 08 season , Fred Murry and I and anybody else that wants to tag along with us plan on going to at least 3 of the NCS races starting with Easley , Ingalls and Freddies , run the Tri -State series at Ingalls , Lansing and Machesney , the Sprint car spectacular at Machesney , the Knoxville Nationals and Royal Oak . The Knoxville trip serves as a dual trip , when we're not running our cars we watch the big boys doing it in the dirt at night . This year we plan on making our trip to Bristol for the night race . Other than those races I'd like to get to Freddies and Lansing when I can . But if I don't get busy on the car the season will be on us all too soon .
fish4check 12-29-2007, 08:20 AM My son and I have been busy so far this winter. We have, all but finished up our Pro1 sprints yesterday. Only thing left is to get the wings/car numbers over to 247 Design for a wrap.
Next project is to go back through a old thread on this board about getting a toolbox built up for traveling with our cars. I also need a list of spare parts to purchase and have on hand.
I am going to rebuild our 4000# roller so we can get out dirt track smooth as glass come racing season.
When/IF, winter lightens up a little we are renovating our oval to QSAC safety standards catch fence, hot pits, barriers and traffic lights for yellow and red flag conditions.
Lastly we have a lot spectators come to our races. So I am building them a covered deck with picnic tables so they have some place to sit and watch either Oval or Offroad races.

You forgot Shaffer's..:)
IN2RACIN 12-29-2007, 03:30 PM 2008 will be a busy one for me.
I plan on doing three NCS races, Easley, Ingalls and Freddies; Plus the Dirt Oval Nats @ Shaffer Speedway on July 11-12. I had planned to compete in the Royal Oak in 08, but I was informed (wife) that I will be out of town that week / weekend on vacation. :(
I will be racing both GN & Sprint @ Freddies in 2008. I’ll probably only race the sprinter in the new point series (not weekly), and the GN weekly (like I did in 07). It is just too hectic (for me) to prepare two cars @ a weekly event.
The time has come to start wrenching on my new Pro1 cars and freshen up my 07 cars. I need to paint four bodies and rebuild (5) motors, order new tires, get my parts in order. I guess I better get busy!
FMurry8995 12-29-2007, 05:31 PM You forgot Shaffer's..:)
Scott:
Randy didn't forget Schaffer's. We are not racing that event, we are going to oversee it.

hopper61250 12-30-2007, 11:01 AM I've been busy...er.."da boys back at the shop" have been busy since mid-November getting my three sprinters cleaned and rebuilt for 2008. 21 events on currently on the schedule with the first being in Easley. Some events , like Easley, are just on the "hope to go" list. Mid-March weather is iffy...we could have a foot of occasional flurries being blown by 40mph winds at that time of year. Pasco is the same way...there could be a lot of winter between here and there. And budget wise...my lovely wife has not fully embraced the idea of a second job to finance my fun. So most of my Saturdays durning the off season are spent at work. Now don't fret...I just spend my time there...I don't ACTUALLY do any.

I found out many years passed that I was paid to be at the place I was employeed at. Not on what I did while I was there. Notice how I avoided the " W --- " word. In my circle of friends we do not use the W word. It is now referred to as survival. Yuck, I get sick just thinking about it. It's one of those things that make you shiver and say wooooo.
We do hope to see you at Easley. Hope you can convince some of the others up that way to come on down.

dangerousdave 12-30-2007, 03:43 PM Mike and I have been looking over most of the midwest races and trying to deceide were we are going to go for our 2-3 travling races this year. I am pretty sure that we will be supporting "The Tri State Series" this year because it helps the tracks that are close to home, if 300 miles is close to home!!!...
Easley is 790 miles and 13 hours, Boulder City is 1820 miles and 27 hours, Freddie's is 450 miles and 7.5 hours, Travel time and cost have become an important factor in or racing trips for this year.
We also would like to support "The NCS" but have not made the call on that race as of this time. I am looking forward to the new season and meeting more racers!!!...

The "NWN" kinda sounds like the "Royal Oak" event. The R.O is a great time! Hot Rods everywhere!
Chance62 01-04-2008, 08:32 PM Yes it is coupled with a very big car show. We just did a bit of a demonstration last year and had the outside of the track packed deep with people that loved watching...thats the best way to promote the sport!
