I picked up a Tecumseh horizontal shaft with gear drive, not a straight shaft. I suspect some attachment (gear box) is missing because the bosses on the side had no grime on them. My question is - Is the gear removable (maybe it's on a threaded stud) so I could get a small straight shaft on this engine and use it with a pulley? Model H35 45059E Serial 6126 02943

I would have to guess that used to be part of a water pump, and the gear does not look removeable, looks molded to it to me

I agree with pyro, The spline gear IS machined as part of the crankshaft.
