I was at my Dad's for Amexmas (no I won't call it the other word) and we got to talking about my slot car hobby/habit. (ok, addiction) I asked him if he could have any car in the world, what would it be.

He said it was a toss up between a '57 Olds 88 and a 62 Catalina. Those were the two cars he drag raced in the early 60s and hed really like to have one again. He started reminicing and telling stories from the strip and I know he enjoyed the trip down memory lane.

Little did he know I had a diabolical plan in mind. As soon as I got home I checked MEV's site and sure enough, they have both. And both are going to be on their way here shortly. Then it's just a matter of painting the pink & Apple blossum white for the Olds and Dark Maroon Metallic for the Catalina. Some RRR wheels and Maybe whitewalls and Dad gets a late Amexmas present. I can't wait to see the look on his face.

Gonna mount a small oval for him to play with too. :D

I've had MEV bodies in the past and they look pretty good with the bumpers and grills chromed. I still have one of his Corvairs, I wish he did more in the way of early 1960's sports cars.

That is way cool! You are a class act all the way!

It is better to give than to recieve....Is it more fun to give than recieve? That is a tough question.

Sometimes it hurts a little to give a nice slot car away but, there is always the next slot car on its way and the ones you are giving to your Dad will be Very Special to him.
