I told you guys I would make a new contest...well here it is.
This is the First Annual Poker Contest here on Hobbytalk.
Here is how it works. In order to play...you must put in a chip-a mainline car...any make, any scale, so long as its not crap.
NOTE: You must select at least two castings you wouldn't mind throwing in the pot, as you might need a second car later.
So, everyone will send me pics of the car they would like as their "ante" (thanks :thumbsup). I will post an adjacent "Pot" thread and that is where all of the cars will be held. Believe me, the pot will get to be pretty large.
Here is how the game will go.
I have a standard deck of 52 cards in front of me. I will shuffle, and randomly pull out 5 cards out from the deck for each player. THIS WILL BE COMPLETELY RANDOM. I will then PM the players and tell them what cards they have.
Then, after everyone has seen their cards, they decide whether they want to stay in or not, according to their hand. If they do want to stay in, they have to put another car in the pot, by PM'ing me the car they want to put in (at this point they would have already put in a car, making it a total of two cars).
They will then PM me with the cards they want to exchange for new ones, with a maximum of four, leaving at least one original card. I will randomly exchange them for new ones, and then I will PM them back with their new hand.
After all of the players have PM'd me their pot cars and exchange cards, everyone will decide if they want to be in or not still.
NOTE-There is a 3 day deadline for PM'ing me the new pot car and exchange cars. After that deadline, they will be kicked from the game if they hadn't PM'd me.
If they still want to be in the game, they will PM me one last Pot car, and when everyone has done this, we will see who has the best hand. Everyone will then mail the winner their pot cars.
NOTE-If you choose to get out of the game, your pot car is still part of the pot, and you must send it to the winner, no matter how early in the game you get out, so you must be committed to sending your cars.
NOTE-YOU MUST HAVE PICS OF YOUR POT CARS. IF YOU ARE CAMERA DISABLED, FIND A PIC SOMEWHERE ON THE NET.
ENTRY RULES
All you have to do to enter is PM me saying you would like to be a part of this year's Poker Contest, and your anti. The only way you can get out of the game after you have selected you anti and put it in the pot, is if you PM me requesting to get out BEFORE THE ENTRY DEADLINE.
All entries must be received on or before New Years Eve.
If I get more than 30 entries, please e-mail me at madonimac@hotmail.com
I will say if an email is needed or not, so go ahead and PM me until then.
Well, I think that pretty much covers it! Have fun!!!
Another note-pot cars can be anything. Customs, carded, loose, slots, etc.
The actual game is being played in Johnny Lightning over in Diecast.
