I just seen on Briggs website that their is a recall on the OHV snowblower engines, says if you overprime them they may catch fire.

Below is the parts the dealer will install to repair this. I was just wondering what these parts are and how they will correct the problem.

Q. What part or parts are being replaced?
A. A kit will be installed that includes a primer relief fitting, a primer label, and an intake arrester.

I know I wont have to worry with this as i'm not a B&S dealer, I just wonder how they new parts will correct the problem.

Thanks for the info.

From what I can tell the primer bulb is holding pressure after pumped thus letting too much fuel enter the carb and exit out of a rear vent hole in the carb.

The "intake arrester" (a plug) is installed into this rear vent hole, The "relief fitting" (check valve) is installed in the primer line to bleed any excess pressure build-up from the primer bulb. This reduces the chance of too much fuel exiting this rear vent hole and out of the carb.
