Well, I'm happy to hear that John and Sam are ready to reopen the track but WHY, for heaven's sake, on SATURDAY?

There is a very small legion of dedicated oval racers in the area and nearly ALL "local" tracks are running on Saturday. Fulton's, Steel City and the "new" Classic already run on Saturday. Will there be enough support for another track on the same day?

There are many problems with organized racing in this hobby but the main issue in this area is quantity of racers. Taking the limited number of people who will race and spreading them thinly across multiple classes (WAY too many nowadays) and multiple tracks running the same day will benefit no one.

John and Sam know me well. I supported their track for years, making the long drive every Saturday - often in bad weather conditions. They know I'm not "picking on them." They have a nice facility. Why schedule racing to compete with other tracks?

I'm puzzled.

Kevin,

Your right, however the track that draws the most people close to Beaver is Freddies, he runs on Sundays.

Dan,

I agree ............. somewhat.

However, if you look at those who have responded to this thread so far, one person is from Fulton's and four others are from Steel City.

kgb,

I highly doubt it. My racing schedule will be every two weeks at best. As of now, the 19th is a "stay home" weekend.

Kevin, you know, I'm "puzzled" too. I was asked to run oval again, and when told that I WAS NOT going to interfere with my successful on-road schedule, the oval guys said that Saturday would be good. I purposely made MY oval time to allow for the early SCH start/finish, AND to give a second racing opportunity in the same day. Then, if 2 times were NOT enough, the racers could go to Freddie's on Sunday, while I am running on-road. That would be 3 different tracks, with the second 2 tracks being similar in size/line.
I REFUSE, though, to be a part of the "bickering" that other tracks have with their oval program(s) and will just discontinue the oval schedule if it persists. Sorry to cut this short, but I have a race event to run in Cleveland. See ya! John

John,

Nice to hear that there will be some oval racing at the Beav! Always had fun racing there with the other Ohio boys!

Hope you don't shut down the oval program before you even have a race because of the talk on here. I don't know how often I can make it down, but I like having the chance of doing SCH and the Beav on the same day. Makes the road trip worthwhile!

Set your schedule, and let the racers decide where to run. Work, family things and weather seem to always play a part in our decisions of when we can get out and play. It's nice to have some options. Variety is the spice of life, so I'm glad we have the Beav, Freddies, SCH, the NEW Classic, and Erie to choose from.

Hope to see you and Sam soon!

Take care and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Dale

Well here's hoping time money and weather will work with us. I hope to maybe get the team out there for one of the last 2 dates. If all works out in our favour, it looks to be 2 or 3 for 13.5 ... 1 or 2 for 4 cell stock and one for 4 cell stock. OH if any one could pass along info on chassis, tires, gearing for those classes it would be great. Also any hotel motel info would be great as well as we'll be coming from a little place called Baltimore MD  Finally could someone give the adress for the track ???? I think I had it but you know computers.......................hit one wrong button and you loose something.
