Hello everyone, and a Merry Christmas as well. I was cruising the internet, looking at new cars, and came upon this one... http://www.carrera-showroom.de/Bilder/25788-camaro-almost-done.jpg And was wondering where I can get this. Is this a specialty that is in the works or is it on the market? I can't find it anywhere....I found it at this website http://www.carrera-showroom.de/Rahmen.html If anyone knows anything, please pm me....thanks!

Dustin

Hey DustinSS,

Some of the cars that Carrera produces, is produced fro certain countries and are not distrubted all over the world. For instance, they just released another Camaro in Australia that was from a racing legend local to Australia. In order to get it, you must order it from an Australian based hobby shop or see if any pop up on e-Bay.

This may be the case with this car, but, then you have the otherside which is after a car's production run is over, that's it. Whatever is in the market is in the market and you just have to look for them via e-Bay and individual for sale ads on various hobby site and slot car sites.

Just keep looking for them and you might find them. You just never know. Put up a Wanted ad at various slot car sites and see what replies you get.

EDIT:

Just did a search and found this on a UK site:

We now have a new limited edition from Carrera in stock, as usual this is a very limited release and is likely to sell out quickly. Carrera have also released another limited edition, unfortunately this sold out shortly after being listed on our website - (Carrera 25787)

That was posted on Tuesday, November 23, 2004. So I'd say that if you can find any and IF any one wants to give up this limited edition, its going to be for a premium coin. Do keep looking, you never know!

Good luck!

@Dustin

It's a limited edition from 2 or 3 years ago. You should be able to find it in a shop.

@PD2

I had a look in several Australian shops but couldn't find the car you mentioned. Do you have the number of the car?

Slot World claims they have it (the one that Dustin is looking for), but I'm not sure if they update their price list to match their inventory. You may have to call them.

As for the Australian release, I saw it on SCI - I'll go have a look and post up when I find it.

OK....I'm a dork! LOL! I don't know why I thought it was a Camaro, but it was a Mustang instead and it was released from Scalextric. It was the Ford Mustang Allan Moffat No9 reference number C2775. Quote Scalextric UK "IMPORTANT NOTE: THE MODEL IS ONLY AVAILABLE THROUGH OUR AUSTRALIAN DISTRIBUTOR, Southern Model Supplies"

Although, there is a Camaro (not sure if its Carrera or Scalextric, that is for Australia called the #7 Bob Jane Camaro. That was a release for Australia only. According to the article I just read, it appears that there will be more Australian only releases from Scalextric in the coming year!

Sorry about the confusion, if any.....

Nothing to be worried about, I was quite sure that you meant the Scalex Camaro!
