I just got one with no rubber on the front wheel I call that a defect. :p 3rdCoastDiecast 12-23-2007, 08:51 PM No offense, but I agree with Stutz, most people, excluding HW's collectors, for some reason view what should be QC rejects as "golden" error finds. I just don't understand the appeal of a car that got packaged sideways, or upside down, or has all four of the same size wheels.....etc, etc, etc, I guess I just don't get it since I don't really collect HW's, In my eyes, all they hae ever been is worse than the original car, why buy a car thats not complete? Just my 2 cents pms485 12-23-2007, 09:22 PM I like the errors... as long as it's a true error with the actual car. I couldn't care less if it was packaged wrong, the trading card is upside down, windshield fell off, etc. If the color is wrong, no serial number, parts completely missing, etc, then I call it a true error. Then, I think they're neat. Karl 12-23-2007, 10:16 PM And I humbly disagree, there are no "true errors" only QC issues aka. "defective products". To be respected a vendor should be held to the highest and most honorable standard and not enabled into thinking that no matter what ilk a poorly trained underpaid employee puts out or mismatched crap is left at the end of a run and slapped together can be sold as 'golden'. You just know they are laughing all the way to the bank at Mattel and some corporate exec got a raise for making their trash collectable... Quick edit: I DO thank you folks who buy the defective ones however because I've pointed some out to the managers at my local Wal-Mart where they were falling apart or wheels were missing AND THEY DON'T PULL THEM because "someone will buy 'em". You'd think they'd worry about lawsuits and such from kids eating rough parts - but nope. :drunk: Firebirds 12-23-2007, 10:52 PM I got a dodge something (the black one from series 3) with a double stamped goodyear rear wheel. thought it was cool and from greenlight not a usual thing considering their QC is pretty good. Newjon 12-28-2007, 06:44 PM Hey pms485, Here's a neat one for ya. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/newjon/DSCN3312.jpg Tampo oops. jon Lummox 12-28-2007, 11:12 PM For me it totaly depends what the error is, kinda like what PMS88 said. Cetain errors CAN make the car interesting and unique...TO ME. It's a personal thing, clearly. I can see it both ways though - after all, all an error realy is is just a quallity controll issue. I guess there's a fine line between an error and a QC issue - it's up to the individual where that line is drawn. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
