Please say it's my imagination and that is a NOT a TA with Formula 350 graphics.......................
robiwon 12-19-2007, 08:56 PM Maybe it's just a prototype shot and it will have correct graphics when it's released.
Inciteful 12-19-2007, 09:19 PM That's my thinking, at least I hope. I can't remember the Formula having the Crosslace wheel option?
Firebirds 12-19-2007, 09:47 PM thats pretty funny.
doesnt look like the production one has formula 350 on it.

Superbird77 12-20-2007, 12:14 PM It looks cool! Black is the right color for this gen. Firebird.
Wyatt 12-20-2007, 12:17 PM In reality, Trans Ams are Formulas with an option code to add ground effects, emblems, and decals. Formulas are lighter which makes them faster when equipped identically to the Trans Am.
3rdCoastDiecast 12-20-2007, 03:02 PM My bet is pre-pro pic
deloreannut 03-27-2008, 02:11 PM I bought one of these and it wobbled like hell when rolled. It took some grinding but I swaped the wheels out so it's ok now.
This would be pretty disapointing if you're a kid (which I still am at heart :)).
transambill 03-27-2008, 08:56 PM Yes, A TA being passed off as a Formula.
Formula's had NO ground effects.
Not all had Formula 350 on there doors. That was kinda rare, shoot finding a Formula with a 350 was rare. Most had 305 and all just said Formula on the doors.
Cant tell from the pics if the car has tampos for fender vents but TA's only had them as well.
bluehemi818 03-28-2008, 11:36 PM I don't know. Looking at them on ebay, they look pretty good. The front looks to be a formula nose. We will see on tuesday when mine arrives! Have a case coming, so lets pray at least one of them is green!
Pewter02WS6 04-02-2008, 12:33 AM i got mine the other day but didn't sit down and look at it until tonight. i was expecting it to be the car from the pic but i was wrong. i am very impressed with greenlight after seeing this release and this particular car. the nose, rear bumper, taillights, and hood are all different than the trans am gta not to mention that this car doesn't have ground effects either. to top it off, i near crapped my pants when i had noticed that this thing is also a t-top instead of a hardtop like the others. the top does seem to have a slight issue with the way it fits to the diecast portion of the roof but i think it could easily be corrected. for all i know, it could just be with mine but i won't complain.
i was really expecting to get basically the same car as the speed channel trans am with different wheels and some formula 350 tampos but i was very wrong. i guess i am just used to seeing stuff like that from the other company. i was also shocked to see a true 68 chevelle instead of the 69. i thought it was a typo when it stated 68 but sure enough they gave us a 68 casting right after the 69 was released. greenlight has certainly gained my respect and climbed the ladder to one of the top notch diecast companies in my eyes.
here are a few pics. don't mind the crappy lightning, lint or fingerprints as it is late and i really need sleep.

PWSchuh 04-02-2008, 01:01 PM But doesn't it still have the wrong wheels? (And why is there a Bird on the back? I'm not a Pontiac guy but I thought that was for Trans Am's only?)

yes the wheels are wrong but honestly, when is the first time you have ever seen a diecast car with wrong wheels?? i give them enough credit for making it a t-top, making sure it has the correct bumpers, no ground effects and the correct hood unlike other manufacturers that would just slap formula 350 tampos on the already existing trans am casting trying to pass it off as something it isn't. there are very few 1/64 scale diecast cars out there that actually have the correct wheels.:freak: as for the bird, yes it does belong there. even firebirds sported the image of the bird.;)
