Hotel info is posted.

The Roll Call List does have a function. It helps me to plan the amount of awards needed and also affects the practice schedule times. If you know of racers who are planning to come and don't get on-line please add there names.

I talked with several racers at the Open Wheel Champs that indicated they are planning to come so I think the turn-out will be pretty good. I assume some are busy with the holidays and have not yet seen this thread.

Also with the competition level expected this will be a great warm-up for the birds.

No, not yet approved.

Sonny, I don't know what is all involved in the battery approval process, but with the general "mess" in the battery world over the last few weeks, it would seem to me that if the Ener-G 4600 and the EP 4600 are ok to be used, it would be reasonable to think that the IB 4600 should also be allowed. For example, if I'm reading the Birds rules correctly, permitted batteries are limited to 4600 without other restriction.

Jim you are correct the current battery situation is a mess.

The reason for the quick approval on the Ener-G cell was the fact that it was the same cell that I had previously approved it was just in a different shrink wrap.

The IB 4600 is a new cell that just released in the last few days. I'm not saying it will never be approved but given IB's lack of quality control over the last year I'm in no hurry to do so.

Honestly if the majority of the racers did not have so many IB4200's that they were still using I would be more than happy to eliminate them from competition as well. They have a problem, they need to fix it. The Cleveland cell was supposed to be the cure but they are staring to find out it's not any better.

Bottom line NO IB4600's this weekend.

The best I can tell you is that there are some positive things in the works and if they come through we will not have this battery issue in the future.

If ib's are not legal, that would mean that a few out of state racers would be able to make it. That is sorta crappy, because I wanted to make this event.

I sorta made all of my plans to attend..hotel, off work and that sort of stuff?

Anything you could to MAYBE(BIG MAYBE) make this cells legal on short notice? If not I do understand.

Thanks, Jim
