Yes, I know this one is not diecast . But I find it interesting, so you might too :)
Made of plastic. Rather large at scale (18 cm. long) bottom reads "Hoda - No.105 - made in hongkong" I think it's a DB Panhard from the early 60s (LeMans) But if you know more or can chip in with anything about this model or other models made by Hoda, please do so.

DB as in Deutch Bonnet. I rrreeaallly dig the obscure stuff like that.
You're lucky to have found such an interesting piece.
Maybe if you did an internet search on DB Panhard you could see if it is or not.

This one was thrown in for free, at a market where I picket up some Reisler figures for a friend :woohoo: The seller had no clue that this was an item I was way more interested in than the figures

Solido made a model in 1962 of this one in 1:43 so I'm pretty sure it's a DB Panhard :p

I'd say your right. I just found some pics - it's not exact.
Either there's another DB I couldn't find a pic of that matches this
or maybe they were trying to be a little vague when they made this model.

A repainted Solido is pictured in this online database (w/o driver):

Online auction is going right now as well as for sale on another site with pictures. [Is it OK to link to those sites here?]

One of the SOLIDO books by Bertrand Azema lists it as #112 from 1960-1971.

I found this Ferrari on ebay several years ago:

Looks a little like the 1960's Tekno #813 from Denmark:

Don't you think?

Guess what HODA called it?

I think they misread the baseplate and did not know TEKNO was the toy maker and FERRARI was the real car maker! :freak:

So if they copied Tekno, I assume they also copied Solido...

Karl - Thanks for sharing
This made a big grin on my face :) + it was exactly what I was asking for, now I know that there are at least two of these Hodas out there.
Earlier this week I traded a Tekno Ferrari in blue with french flag away for some early 1:86 Norevs, but I still got a photo:

I really like your "Tekno Hoda Ferrari" so if you are willing to part with it (trade or sell) LMK:wave:

That is not the last time that a Hong Kong manufacturer copied a European die cast vehicle, and used the name of the original manufacturer to describe said vehicle. In the 1980s a Hong Kong manufacturer issued a line of small toy vehicles and named one of them a "Majorette Truck."

This pic put a big cheasy grin on my mug:thumbsup: I guess Hong Kong companies assumed to Toy maker script logo to be the real car brand, wonderful to think somebody in Hong Kong toy design c 1960 had never heard of Ferrari so called it a Tekno........
