Bill,
We run J-laps up here and have pretty good luck with it. I dont know a whole awful lot about it but I can definately get you in touch with someone who knows quite a bit about it. I talked to Mike and it is a go for sure for the NWN in Washington. Thanks for the help Bill!

I've seen J-Lap, and it is pretty neat. We run RC Scoring Pro, and love it.

I use AUTOSCORE for WINDOWS, and have used JLaps...and seen in action RCSCORING Pro.

Bar NONE IMHO - the RCScoring Pro IS THE BEST! It also offers great features.

I didn't like much about JLAP other than the VOICED ability in Practice mode, to be able to hear your lap times while you were practicing.

Autoscore for WINDOWS works good - but has bugs that I would have liked to have seen improved or upgraded by now. (Things like having the program REMEMBER your printer settings..and not be a PAPER WHORE if you forget to reset every time you exit the program)

SORRY - I didn't notice this was in the QSAC section. I don't know who has the best layout for the type of racing you guys do. (Laps with Names vs. TIMED racing.) I know AUTOSCORE had a QScale version, not sure about the rest.

From what I have seen over the years the RC Scoring pro seems to be the front runner. I have never seen anything from J-lap that has impressed me. It has dropped laps, printed lap times that are not possible and had trouble just running with out having problems, difficult if not impossible to set up for single car qualifing. It may be great for other scales that run on time not laps and other formats but from what I have seen it just is not for 1/4 scale. i have also heard support is not there. I know that when one of the clubs I race with f irst bought it the support was great and continues to be. I know of three clubs that have gone to RC Scoring pro and love it. If I were having a race scored I would want RC Scoring Pro. I have it on my system and soon hope to get time to get to know it better.

I worked with Doug Hay of RC Scoring Pro to tweak the standard software to allow a racing format like we use in QSAC racing.

Doug has been absolutely great in all of our dealings. The software has been wonderful to use. It is very intuitive and user friendly. MPR was the first track in quarter scale racing to use RC Scoring Pro; we wouldn't use any other software; period.

Anyone using B & B?

Andy,

I know most of the old QSAC clubs used B&B's Autoscore...they had a decent program...I'm not sure what they have for QSAC that is AMBrc compatible, but I'm sure Bill Wishon had created something.

We use AUTOSCORE for WINDOWS for the 1/10th stuff. I have issues with it, but all in all I like how it works for most programs.

I do wish I could do events that use most of a LAP based race program like what you'd find at your local STOCK CAR track though.

I like to do some 'creative' events once in a while..nd autoscore isn't the easiest to be creative with.

Sonny Brown and I have discussed something similar to a short-track scoring program. One that has serialized scoring to allow you to go immediately to the last lap completed. This would allow the race director to line everyone up as they were running, not only position in the overall sense, but also how they crossed the line on the last completed lap.

If someone came up with that..., that would change the way we race completely, in a very good way.

I have never really scored a race (Amb), but is there any way to NOT count yellow flag laps?
