Hi Guys,

All is shaping up well for the New Year Dash carpet oval event at CRC Raceway in Rome, NY. We are expecting another great turnout of the finest oval racers in the Northeast. Yes, this is the 12th year of this Championship.

Classes: (ALL 4 cell)

1/10th 13.5 Brushless
1/10th Stock - 27 turn Brushed
1:12th 19 turn
1:12th Stock
Truck-Suspension - 4 cell 27 turn stock
Losi Sliders - Box stock, kit battery

A very affordable "low dough" show. Only $15 for the first class, $10 for additional classes. If you run the club race Friday, save $5 on your first entry.

Pete D'Agnolo has confirmed he will be here. I would expect to see oval guru's Stevie "Rocket" Miller, Tom Postalwait and Steve Pemberton. In addition to these oval champions, look for road course wizard Jeff Dayger to try his hand on the oval. Should be another classic battle on the oval at CRC Raceway.

The list of former champions of this race is a who's who of oval racing, Mike Murphy, Todd Putnam, Pete D'Agnolo, Steve Miller and Brian Ziegler, to name a few.

For those who want a bit of testing, we will have a club race Friday night, December 28th. On Friday, doors open at 4 PM with racing starting at 7:30 AM.

Check out www.crcraceway.com or call 315-339-6050 for more information.

C-ya there.

Notice to all the 10th scale guys coming to the Dash:

The minimum weight for 10th scale cars will be heavier than the 39 oz. posted on the flyer. We have kind of been waiting for Snowbird's to post their minimum weights on the website, but they are still not up yet.

It has been brought to our attention that ROAR weight is 41 oz.

We are not necessarily going to 41, but it will be increased.

We will let you know what the exact minimum will be within the next day or 2.

If it is allowed to I might run the Tekin in one of the qualifiers (they need to be staggered starts though since the test unit I have needs a push to start rolling). I'll run the orange stuff in the other qualifiers and the main.

Qualifiers are staggered / ifmar starts. It's a "heads up" start, but everyone's on their own clock once they cross the loop.

Hi Eric,

Yes, we have 17.5 Novak brushless motors in stock. For 1:12th scale 4 cell, we find these run side by side with a good brushed 27 turn.

Thanks,
Frank

We ran our club race tonight, grip is up and a good bunch of racers had a decent night of racing and testing.

Remember, for those travelling in, we do not have the pit space to spread out with 1 racer per table. If the turnout is decent as expected (like last year), we need to get 5 bodies per 2 tables.

Also, we have a decent amount of chairs and power strips, but what is put out is all we have. Don't be afraid to throw a chair and power strip in the car just in case.

Also, please put your transponder high in your car (off the chassis). We have a raised bridge and transponders on the chassis work inconsistantly, please get em up off the chassis.

For food, we have Barbi-Q's food wagon showing up around 10:30 AM. Barbi has great food and will be park outside the door for your dining pleasure. We expect her to stay until about 4 PM or so, stay tuned for announcements during the day.

Remember, this is a low-dough show for fun. We have been running the race for 12 years now and in general, things go real well and all have a good time. Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. If all goes well, you will be on the road home by 6 - 7 PM.

Thanks!

Another New Year's Dash is in the books!

Frank and crew:
It looked like everyone in the house had a great time. CRC always creates a friendly atmosphere. Thanks for putting on this awesome "low dough show"...there aren't too many of these anymore.

Congrat's to ALL of the winners and to Rhode Island resident Mike McDermott for winning 13.5...I'm sure it made his ride home easier!

Thanks to my buddies from New England for coming to New York and supporting one of our tracks and to Steve Salvas for making the trek. Hope to see you all soon.

Hi gang,

Thank you all for the nice words and thanks for coming out to our event each year. It is a pleasure trying to put on a good race for a great group of racers that we have been getting over the years.

You guys were very patient during our computer glitch. We apologize for the delay and we will certainly have it fixed for our next event.

Just a classy group of racers, thanks again.

Look for our 13th Annual New Year Dash on Saturday December 27th, 2008.

Regards,
Frank
