Race number 4 of the BSR Racing Tires Brushless Oval Tour would see 63 drivers make the trip to Allen’s R/C Raceway in Rodchester, IL for some fast and furious short track action.
The cold weather and 7" of fresh snow didn’t seem bother anyone as all had a good time.

Hometown racer and weekend TQ Kevin Klyber set the pace early before losing the lead to a hard charging Chad Humble. Humble would lead for the next 8 laps but get caught up in a minor wreck allowing Klyber to re-assume the point. Klyber would cruise on to his first victory of the season.

The “Wolfman” Rob Mulvaney tried to keep it respectable finsihing on the lead lap and bringing home a season best second place finish. Great Weekend at Allen's again. They have great facilities every year and work hard at keeping us racers happy! A BIG THANK YOU to Barb especially for keeping the hunger pangs at bay! Her grub is second to none at the track! Another big thanks to Kevin Klyber for his tremendous help throughout the weekend. His constant "looking over my shoulder" and yelling at me to not change things and "Leave it alone!" was what I needed. Frank gave me a great start and Kevin tweaked it for the weekend. Thanks to both. Can't forget KoKo for reminding to dope the tires at the right time. Great Pit Buddy!! I saw a lot of great sportsmanship and comraderie amongst competitors. Sonny keeps everything smooth and hassle free. Apologies go out to Rusty Mulvaney. He deserved a spot in A main and probably woulda been there without the Blue OREO car wrecking in front of him in the qualifier. Like his Dad, he's a class act!! For me, a personal best at 3rd in the C main. We take our Woo Hoos where we can get 'em... :woohoo:

Thanks for the kind words Jim.

I thought Rusty did very well for not touching a controller for 18 months, every run he got more comfortable and smoother.

Do not sweat the wreck, it is just part of the hole racing thing. Stuff Happens

Hope to see you at the track again soon......Happy Holidays

I had a good time, that was a bit of a tough track for me driving wise, the car was way better than the driver was... Made my first A also but with 12 cars it was almost hard to not make it but the main was full of the "regulars" so it still counts for me!!! Bad trip home, snagged a deer right before we got back to Iowa....I didn't want to stop in Gulfport IL that bad!!! But we got a wrecker and some family to come get us and we made it home safe, no one was hurt in the whole thing only one animal was injured (prolly killed after the 70mph blast to the side). The van on the other hand was done for.... Hopefully no more of those in the racing adventures this winter. Next race for me will be Green Bay so have fun everyone at Ft Wayne.

Had a great time again at Allen's. Thanks to Barb for the great food and great cookies.

Fun racin with the truck guys again. Got to practice moving over for the "Rocket" and trading paint with Wolfie. Good job by the Evil Redwing fan with his 3rd place finish.

Good job by the Racing Renards. Jason for his great run in the 13.5 B-main and Shelley for winning the 17.5 B-main and her run in the A-main. Sorry I wrecked you.:D

Congrats to all the Winners. Great job by Pat Simkins in 13.5, winning the B-main and then the A-main.

Bulimic giraffe, now that's funny.:jest:

See you all in Fort Wayne or at Hensley's RC for the 13.5 Challenge in January.

Great job to everyone at Allen's and to Sonny B. Now if I can only figure out how to pass that damn lapped traffic without wreaking  Great job to Kevin Klyber in 17.5 and to Rod Galloway in the truck class ( looks like the championship to me ). Also to Rusty M., he will be another fast guy we will have to race against, and to Shelly Renard for making the A-Main. I also got to see my motor go up in smoke when Tony Mitchell went up in flames. :freak: We will see you all again in Ft Wayne. I can't wait.

Jack
