I know you slotheads are like me and were into model kits at some point. I thought it was cool to find out that some of the MPC stock car kits from the '70s are being re-issued this year.

I picked up the '71 Mercury Cyclone stock car today -- how cool to have a new kit of that car!

There is going to be a Torino, Monte Carlo and the 'aero' cool Laguna S3 also! Saw the Torino as well so maybe I'll pick it up next week. Can't wait. :woohoo:

Also, they are being re-issued under the AMT 'Model King' branding, so do a search for that if you are interested in details.

Yep big model builder back when. My Step-Father raced a Monte Carlo like that back in the early 80s but, his was sprayed (by me) with rattle cans...red, white and blue...stripes and stars. Looked good from the stands and the #s on the door were just outlined with a big black sharpie.

Drank lots of beer (was under age but, everyone looked 18 when you were in High School if you didn't shave.) as they never carded me....Sweet times! Drinking beers and smokin" smokes at the local Dirt track with my best friend (still my best friend and just went to see the Chiefs play...lose again this year)and the girls(dang would love to be young again). Still take the Wife and kids to the Races a couple of times a year now.
