Trying to work out who makes the SDK-408 motor that comes in the Life-Like T chassis.

Anybody know?

Most likely they're made by Mabuchi. They make motors foor all the small stuff. Including Tyco, Tomy, Micro Scalextric and all the others.

I have trawled the Dalian Mabuchi in the past and all I have ever found is the SH-030SA we all love and know.

I think it is pretty certain this LL motor is either exclusive to them or made by somebody else.

Talking to a friend of mine, Mark Kitto who owns a shop with a great custom ho track. The subject of the LL t-car came up. He said he had a problem with his credit card machine one day, took it apart and found the exact same motor in the t-car was used to advance the paper on his credit card machine. He said there's got to be many millions out there. The good thing for us is they will never go away.

but the bad thing is we have to pay retail. I have a major project the works and would dearly love to find out who makes the motor.
