Here is the 1995 6 cell stock Carpet Classic A-main at Walt's Hobbys. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIwrrGNjcag I know Chris Harrington and Jim Rufiange, but curious to know who the other racers are if anyone knows. Sorry about the poor video-taking skills and quality. This was a originally recorded on 8mm tape, then recorded on a vcr tape, then played on my projector TV and recorded with digital camera. bologna 01-24-2008, 05:29 PM alan belher all the way to the left and the guy in the blue hat is john asper Echeconnee 01-24-2008, 08:12 PM Great video, I can't wait to get our carpet track in! rcgen 01-24-2008, 09:11 PM Great video, I can't wait to get our carpet track in! What??!!! Did I miss something? Cliff, carpet, no concrete.....that would mean foam tire racing. Hastings 01-25-2008, 12:46 AM How many laps do the 10.5 cars run. Here in Cali. up in the bay area theres a littlle bullring where TQ was 105 for a 5 min. race. Echeconnee 01-25-2008, 09:40 AM Just when you think things will never change, lolWhat??!!! Did I miss something? Cliff, carpet, no concrete.....that would mean foam tire racing. Alan Behler 01-25-2008, 01:20 PM wow that was a long time ago... i think my car was the orange one???? that track was fun harringBONE 01-26-2008, 09:23 AM ah the good ol *rump*, *rump*, thats the sound it made on entry and exit of the turns because the banks were flat, ie not curved to the bank, so the transition from straight to turn was a little tricky. Jim Rufiange 01-26-2008, 09:54 AM This was the year Harrington was cheating. There is no way he should have run that good. tripleh3 01-26-2008, 10:07 AM The cheating started way back in the early 90s.The good old days.Look at him now, still starting controversy at rc tracks.(Home made ESC)Then came Sophie.Finish the brushless speedo yet.John H F-T-Z-I-G 01-26-2008, 10:35 AM Just for fun... Great video... hard to believe that it was 13 years ago. Zig Tommygun43 01-26-2008, 12:24 PM I have some tape of a kid named ziegler winning too, (qual. 2nd) and some 1/12 mod, but the recording is even worse cuz my dad did it. I wonder what kind of cars those were, I know mine was a 10L (maybe the SS) but one time I was there the big deal was the first car with 3 shocks (trinity evolution maybe?) dominating. The cars look like tanks....! F-T-Z-I-G 01-26-2008, 01:03 PM I have some tape of a kid named ziegler winning too, (qual. 2nd) and some 1/12 mod, but the recording is even worse cuz my dad did it. The cars look like tanks....! haha.. I talked to Rufiange last night and we figured out that in the spring of 95 I only came and ran mod on sunday and I was running an EV10 (only weekend the car was ran) and that in the stock race he also ran an EV10. Those Walts races were great. Its too bad that racing isnt like it was back in those days. Now there pretty much is only 1 big race a year and back then there seemed to be 1 a month. mGraves 01-26-2008, 08:13 PM the big deal was the first car with 3 shocks (trinity evolution maybe?) dominating. The cars look like tanks....! The first car I remember with 3 shocks was the PSE Phaze 1 designed by Brad Hayes from Indiana, but I can't remember what year that would've been?? reggie's dad 01-26-2008, 09:10 PM haha.. Flat carpet but some of the same faces. :dude: harringBONE 01-28-2008, 12:18 PM i ran a ev10 at walts as well, for some reason i thought rufiange was running a HD. i'll tell you the secret at walts...everytime my dad went to the counter to get my motor, he accidently dropped it on the concrete floor! SBHG2004 01-29-2008, 09:00 PM Tommy G that is the best r/c footage I have seen in a while thanks for the great memories. I believe I was there the year before that.
