Hey Guys,

Just found out about this site from a good friend and I must say I am impressed with it. There's tons of information on here. Like the title basically says I am following the lead with a few friends of mine and getting into offroad a bit. I am not new to R/C at all, I have plenty of experience and great success in electric oval racing and done well in nitro sprint car racing. I have been out of the hobby for 3 years now and I'm itching to get back into it all. I had a RC10GT a few years back to bang around with in the back yard, but no longer have. I am just looking for some advice on a good truck to pick up and some of the common offroad items that are a must to have on any prepared race truck! I have all the tools bump box and needed supplies including electronics, so basically just looking for a truck with a motor in it. I have browsed ebay and found some deals, but just looking for good insight from the guys who do it all the time thats all. I really appreciate any help!

If you're looking for a gas truck you can't go wrong with either the associated gt2 or the losi ad2. You can find both trucks used for around 150 bux if you look. I would personally look for a roller without an engine. I consider any used engine junk unless it's from one of my personal racing buddies. Used engines can just create to much problems. A good engine would be an os tg, or a cv-r if you could find one new somewhere. The adam drake engines are good, and as always a novarossi is killer. But os is the most economical and just as reliable as anything out there.

That all said, gas truck doesn't get the numbers that buggy and truggy do if you plan to race. It's probably the best class to start racing with in my opinion unless not enough show up to race.
