View Full Version : HADA Shocks

Greetings-

As some of you may or may not know, Jack Hada no longer makes his famous HADA Shocks. There are a limited few still around at MPR, but they are not going to last forever.

Having been given the "rights" to these shocks from Jack Hada himself, Dave Pirrello and I have been discussing re-introducing the HADA Shocks.

After talking about this a bit, Dave and I are surveying to find out how much interest still remains for HADA Shocks in our quarter scale community.

Is there still interest?

In what configuration would you like to see the shocks:
-With plastic rod ends?
-Without plastic rod ends?

What do you considered a fair price for a single shock?

What, if anything, would you change with the shock to make it better or more viable for our use in quarter scale?

Please contact Dave Pirrello (DMPSMOKE) or Joe Brooks (Joe39) with any questions.

Thanks,

Joe Brooks

If they're better than what is currently on the market then I would be in for a set providing the price isn't just outrageous.

I'm always in for upgrades if it's cost efficient to performance gain and reliability.

Well me and a few other guys at our track use to use them a few yaers ago. I loved them cause I never had a problem with mine leaking. I went from the original lightning shocks to Hada, and boy did it make a difference. Then when lightning went to Gen 2 or 3 I switched cause I liked those. I think if someone could make a shock more like smaller scale with valving adjustments etc, would be nice. Good rod ends, ones that are free, and dont bind up when tightened up(unlike the new lightning things) And of coarse they are not to exspensive.

I used those shocks for a couple of seasons on my Lightning . Seemed to me they worked alot smoother than the original Lightning shocks . Unfortunately I let them go with the car when I sold it .

Joe,
when i got my new car from WCM it came with Alumminum Shocks. I have been told these are a better shock the their plastic counterpart.. What would YOU recomend
the new WCM alumminum or the Hada?

alright coming from mini-sprints and 410 sprints we rarely ran straight valve shocks usually rr only. does anyone make an adjustable valve shock? i would really love to see that in a shock heavy tie-down in the lr and pop-ups in the front... loook out Brad

I polish the saft s and drill a tiny hole in the piston then use heavier oil s

You better check QSAC rules concerning inpact parts.I don't thank adjustable shocks are allowed.

I get

the idea of the impact rules. But I do not read where a competitor can not work on the shocks (to tune or adjust). It strikes me this is more for builders of the shocks so we do not start haveing to buy exiotic shocks that would be costly.

I dont see where it says you can not drill out shocks, or polish shafts????? I dont know why you would not be able to run a shock that was adjustable?

so does that mean all my carbon fiber shock bodies and titanium shockshafts arent legal? i didnt even see that rule. i can't believe how good they turned out and smooooth too. :o

Had to be reading it in the rules about the bumper and support Cause I donot see any rules about shock tuning or polishing , But I am going to look at the rule book again And try ti find where that interpretation came from ..

it just says that the suspension should be readily available to everyone says nothing about tuning the only thing it says you cant do is cantilever and everything else would be interputed asa grey area the way i see it... and you know what it says if the rule books says you cant do it...

Working on the pistons, drilling holes,Polishing shafts is all Ok. Impact parts are spending 500.00 on a split valve Adjustable Shock with Special features. This is not cost effective for the racer. When I ran we did work on the shocks and play with pistons. When you hit on it Piston and Oil SHHHHHHHHHH.

Valving the shock is very simple, and is very resionable priced as long as you use the right parts. I know who has them.......

the new WCM alumminum or the Hada? on the wcm shocks sand and polish shafts till they don't drag o rings they may do that sometimes just due to different batches f o rings i also sand the pistons down smaller by chucking them in a drill press i use associated shock oils 20wt in all but left rear 10 in lr but you can just sand and polish shaft and use motorcycle fork oil they are designed to use fork oil!!! i havent seen any of the hada shocks but heard they where great!!!

I was not talking about drilling or polishng.I was talking about a shock you can adjust like full size cars.

and i wasnt talking about an adjustable shock i was just inquiring about a valvable shock something that could be made like an easy up or a tie down but now you got me thinking... i do have a third channel

oil? you guys still use shock oil? LOL

The Hada shocks are good and almost a direct replacement for the QD shocks which are no longer available. I still use my QD shocks that have different valving on each corner and without using any oil!
Works great!

And let me add that even though the shocks are the main ingredient to the suspension, springs should be considered! I use a progressive spring set-up! Starts out soft like you want it but the more compression, the stiffer it gets! That works great too!
