Wow....that is awesome!

Sears 1971 and 1975 bring back lots of memories, starting with the covers, and continuing throughout the entire catalog.

Thanks for this!

The 1976 book brought back memories as I remember that catalog for whatever reason.

Ahhhh...console televisons, Atari, electric football, stereo units with turntables.

And you could charge it to make shopping easier!! :woohoo:

Too cool!!!! My buddies an I waited all summer for the wish books to come. Once we got them, we wore the covers off of them.

Aw man -- Magnatraction cars for $3.97 in the 1976 book. God my parents must've been cheapskates back then.

And some of the pics of the old Hot Wheels and Matchbox really bring back memories. The Tyco HO trains, Girder & Panel building sets -- Outstanding!

To be fair to Mom and Dad, go to:
http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl
plug in 1976 and $3.97 and find out what it really cost them to buy you that car.

The older guys might want to appreciate what your parents went through to buy you that Sterling Moss T-jet four-lane set in 1968. Or why they wouldn't. $39.95 in 1968 - lessee, just punch it up on the Inflation Calculator and -- yeowww!

what a cool link. I saw my very first set in the 1975 wish book.
I had to print out the pic... the Penske set for 29.99. I drolled over that
set for months. I really wanted the bigger set on the other page but I knew there was no chance. Besides, I wouldn't of had romm to set up a bigger track anyway. I remember that Wish book so very well.

My sister got one of the cheesy stereos that year. My younger brother got some GI Joe stuff. I was'nt a doll guy. I liked cars, planes, boats. It didn't matter. If it had a motor in it, I liked it. I required a lot of batteries. I also got that wrist watch radio in the book that year. Couldn't get a station tuned in on it for more than 5 seconds at a time to save my life. It sucked.

I guess the kid in the pic must have had a better one, he looks so happy.

WOW, the 1979 book shows an Incredible Hulk U-turn set, I never saw that van? I wonder if it was ever released?
