General 12-04-2007, 03:41 PM What do you guys think? Give me some feed back. Thanks. ccm399 12-04-2007, 03:52 PM Bring It on! I know a couple guys that normally run at Medina live right close to you and would probably be up for some off road action close to home. Friday nights sound good to me! Chris I assume you are talking dirt right????? 2wd mod for me.... General 12-04-2007, 04:01 PM yes it would be dirt signpro 12-04-2007, 04:09 PM What classes would you be running? ccm399 12-04-2007, 04:19 PM Cool. Let us know more info when you have it. General 12-04-2007, 04:20 PM not sure yet, trying to get feed back so i can try and figure everything out. badassrevo 12-04-2007, 04:21 PM I will come down and run 2wd mod and 4wd. rbostjr 12-04-2007, 04:21 PM Would it be Indoor, Outdoor, or both? -Bob badassrevo 12-04-2007, 04:22 PM ELECTRIC 1/8TH SCALE General 12-04-2007, 04:31 PM out door ccm399 12-04-2007, 04:44 PM oh......I though we were talking indoor off road for the winter. I guess I had heard that you guys were no longer running oval races. Maybe I heard wrong. Outdoor would be cool too though. Chris 1/8 scale buggy and Aerena Truck will be the largest classes most weeks. badassrevo 12-04-2007, 04:57 PM I assumed it was indoor as well. I guess out door will be good to but there are only two days to split up between the local tracks (2 hr drive) General 12-06-2007, 09:07 AM we have plenty of room to build a big track out back that way we can race many differant tracks many differant ways rybred33 12-08-2007, 08:23 PM Indoor offroad elec. would be sweet. I need a good reason to buy a new ride. General 12-08-2007, 09:00 PM do you guys think we could get enough racers to go indoors? General 12-08-2007, 09:12 PM sorry guys , mest up on the polls. thats a question i'm asking, would you come and how many people do you think we could get each week? Minit76 12-08-2007, 09:18 PM General, we're talking about Walts old place on 224 correct? Are you going to be the new owner of the hobby shop and race tracks located on the property? I know many people that would put up nitro for the winter season to run electric at a local track. It would put less miles going back and forth to Columbus, Ashtabula, PA, or MI. General 12-08-2007, 09:25 PM yes I,m gonna take it over and i'm trying to figure out if i can get enough racers to do an offroad inside. General 12-08-2007, 09:29 PM i was planing on doing carpet oval/roadcourse ,but there was a lot of replys about indoor offroad. ccm399 12-08-2007, 09:34 PM Well lets put it this way.....from what I hear The Gate is lucky to get 20ish racers Ashtabula (indoor off road) has been at or over 50 for most of the season. Ryan runs a nice show and puts down good layouts. And that turnout is the electric racers only. On-road is VERY expensive. I think this is one of the reasons for low turnouts at the gate. Just a thought or two.......I still vote for Friday nights!!!!! ccm399 12-08-2007, 09:41 PM Brushless/Lipo has REALLY helped the electric off road turnouts! With guys like Steve (MiniT76) saying they would shelf the Nitro stuff and run electric that shows you something. There are a lot of guys that run at Ashtabula that just like to race so if you don't run on the same day I am sure they would come out for a little more track time! Chris TA$KER 12-08-2007, 10:43 PM Indoor offroad would be dialed!! I never liked carpet, but I ran it for a little bit just cause it was so close. If you build it they will come! pink_sleeve 12-08-2007, 10:54 PM General, we're talking about Walts old place on 224 correct? Good heat is a must. But I think the building you are talking about had/has good heat. Chris Minit76 12-09-2007, 12:34 PM ELECTRIC cars are way to fast for Steve  Not to worry Dan. It would still have the same outcome as nitro. You would still be in second place at the end!!! ccm399 12-09-2007, 12:36 PM So Web....you thinkin' 2wd mod or what????? Minit76 12-09-2007, 04:37 PM What ever class that will run brushless lipo would be for me. No motor or battery war along with no problems for me. Only time will tell then finding out exactly what everyone would want to run. pink_sleeve 12-09-2007, 04:38 PM so bring your 2wheel or 4wheeler to Bula Phil700xcsp 12-09-2007, 04:53 PM I vote for indoor offroad and racing on Sun. ccm399 12-09-2007, 05:41 PM Sundays wouldn't be too bad either. I was thinking Have Fun and A-Town run on that day but I know Friday nights might not be the best for some but it is open. Well, Erie runs on that night but I don't think that is the area he will be pulling racers from. General, any idea what size the track would/could be? Thanks, Chris Minit76 12-09-2007, 06:00 PM so bring your 2wheel or 4wheeler to Bula I would but it would have to be purchased first. The only way I would go electric is if a track would be close to home. ccm399 12-09-2007, 06:03 PM I would but it would have to be purchased first. The only way I would go electric is if a track would be close to home. They sell them every day of the week!!!!! What ya waiting for???? Just think you could come up and spend the whole day at Ryan's! Scott54 12-12-2007, 12:09 PM Friday night works, but if it's Friday, it might as well be any other night of the week. Saturday night works too, I could swing by on the way from Ashtabula. And then I could still race one of the Y-town tracks on Sunday. ccm399 12-12-2007, 12:21 PM Friday night works, but if it's Friday, it might as well be any other night of the week. Saturday night works too, I could swing by on the way from Ashtabula. And then I could still race one of the Y-town tracks on Sunday. Good point. However, it looks like he is moving forward with a Carpet on-road track. Atleast that is what he posted in the on-road section. Oh well...... Here it is: I'm almost sure the track will open the 2nd week of jan. road course will race either friday or sunday which ever you guys want the most. The track will be 36' ft. wid 90' long Scott54 12-12-2007, 12:53 PM Well it looks like I need to find a TC car!!!! SWEET! ccm399 12-12-2007, 12:56 PM Well it looks like I need to find a TC car!!!! SWEET! And a MONEY tree!!!!!!! I remember running TC....WOW that costs WAYYYYYYYY too much!!! It was pretty fun though. HookupsXXX4 12-12-2007, 01:38 PM Well it looks like I need to find a TC car!!!! SWEET! Go with 12th scale. NatalieMorgan 12-13-2007, 06:54 PM Someone say offroad in akron? I know of 4 more people that would be there in a sec! ccm399 12-13-2007, 08:59 PM Someone say offroad in akron? I know of 4 more people that would be there in a sec! Seems strange to me......On-road seems to be struggling.....at least around here it does. Off-road on th eother hand seems to be doing well. If you look over on the on-road threads The woodville mall track got like 26 total entries for their first points race. Freddies sounds to be doing well...not even that good. As far as I know The Gate has seen low turnouts and the Champs are now over so the turnout will most likely go down even further. At least it has in years past. Anyway, hopefully things will work out for him with the on-road deal. If not he can always haul some dirt in:thumbsup: Chris General 12-14-2007, 05:01 PM sorry guys , i had alot more interest in the carpet oval/road course so that is what we are going to put in. But we are going to be putting in a large offroad out back that will be sweet enough for all you guys to come run on. I run both off-road and 12th scale on-road, and it seams that off-road is the new thing to do for the time being. I think alot of it has to do with brushless/lipo coming into it's own. Yeah, they use it in on-road, but not as much. I could put a BL in my 12th, but I don't think that there are lipos to fit my car. It is strange, I go to Toledo and there is mostly 12th. Go to The GATE and it is all TC. Don't get me wrong, I think it is great the someone is taking over Classic. I ran there a few times in the mid '90s on a outdoor dirt oval. I just wonder if we have to many off-road tracks in this part of Ohio? As I count, we would have 5, some not open all year round, but you get my point. Again, it is awesome that we have that many to pick from. Maybe I am just thinking to much! LOL! When are you thinking about opening? What ever you run, I have a car for. I wounldn't mind seeing Classic again after all the years. Thanks, Jerry ccm399 12-14-2007, 07:39 PM sorry guys , i had alot more interest in the carpet oval/road course so that is what we are going to put in. But we are going to be putting in a large offroad out back that will be sweet enough for all you guys to come run on. Thats cool. I hope it works out for ya. I was just commenting on what seems to be happening around here. I hope the interest you had comes to life. Good Luck:thumbsup: . Chris waggz 12-16-2007, 10:40 AM It would be great if classic put an offroad in! I used to race carpet and dirt oval there WAY back in the day. Walt and his family were always great to me. Maybe try to get in on the pro series this summer if there is one? Now i can race a 2 different tracks when i head home :woohoo: General 01-28-2008, 09:32 PM well guys in 4 weeks we will start bringing in the dirt for the new offroad track, as we go forward i would like to get your input on what all of you would like to see that way i can plan everything around all the racers. What do youguy's think, The dirt oval first , or the bumps and jumps? ccm399 01-28-2008, 09:51 PM So are we talking outdoor or indoor? SKEEMCIRE 01-28-2008, 10:58 PM It would be outdoor. Steve: Where you plan on putting it where the old on road is? What are your plans for the old asphalt track? There were some people on the QSAC thread aksing about it. Minit76 01-28-2008, 10:58 PM Chris, I would think he's talking outside at this point. Seeing he's installed the carpet track inside already. Steve, I would look for a bumps and jumps track outside. Are we talking something for electric and gas or just electric at this point? vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
