Stop number four on the BSR Brushless Oval Tour will see drivers invade the friendly confines of Allen's R/C Raceway for the Custom Works 300 on December 15-16.

The 07-08 season is off to a red hot start with attendance up at each of the first three events. The BRL tour regulars are looking forward to doing battle on the first short track of the season. The 130" foot bull ring at Allen's provides some fast and fun racing action.

Allen's was the host for the Midwest Brushless Oval Challenge in 2006 and the inaugural BRL Novak National Finals this past April. Pit tables and chairs are provided and the on-site hobby shop is fully stocked with all the oval parts you will need. Food is available on site and hotels are about 10 minutes away.

Allen’s located in Rochester, IL just east of the state capitol Springfield. Directions are available on there website.

I was curious as I had heard the new EnerG cells were not going to be legal anytime soon why that is. From what I have been told they are the same as the EP cell just different wrap, could be wrong but that is what I have been told.


Is this true?
If not, what about the Allen's race.

Erika at Pro-Match said if Sonny allows them they will supply the hobby shop at allens full of packs so they are readily available. Im pretty sure she said Allen only carries pro-match cells. I really dont think they will be any better than the current ep4500's i ran in vinton, just easier to obtain.

Id buy 3 packs.

I hope he lets us run them because i sold all my 4500's in Vinton.

I just got off the phone with Sonny. He asked me to post that the EnerG 4600 will be legal for the Allen's race. Sonny said he will confirm it when he gets back from the Open Wheel Champs.

On the above topic of matchers having the EP4200s available. The EP4200 have been available to any matcher in for at least the last 6-8 months. The cell supply has been short latley, but they have been in circulation for an extended period of time.

The word is Sonny IS going to let you run the new EnerG Cell. :woohoo:

Sonny usually posts the schedule the week of the event. You can go back to race 3 at Vinton to look at that schedule. Sonny keeps the event schedules pretty similar to each other. I'm sure there will be plenty of practice time Saturday morning.

DannyB, Yes and Yes. We were there last Sunday ( during the Ice storm ) for practice and Allen is going to allow Paragon for this race. He told us that he will let us practice Friday night when he opens. I am not sure what time but I thought I heard 5:00 pm. You may want to give him a call.
